Never say never.... I guess
Okay so I’ll get straight to it. I can ramble on and on if I don’t. November 3 picked up my 116520 and said I was done unless I got the A D call for a 116500. Fast forward a whopping 8 days and I did in fact get an A D call on November 11 just not for a 116500 but for a 126610. Said yes anyway. I mean who says no in this market for a SS Rolex these days
Both of these times said I was done unless. Both of these times I lied. All based upon me telling myself I can wait for the “call”. However the more I waited A D’s began closing left and right in my state. Naturally lessening my chances for the “call” especially when a good bit of the A D’s in my state also sell Patek. To which a fellow member pointed out that makes it even tougher. We all know why. So after a good bit of debating, thinking, and planning I decided to “make” the call to one of our trusted sellers and a great guy who I’ve done business with since 2012. I will now have my 116500. Just decided Im not gonna go Gray while I wait and chose to go Grey. Not to mention all the Daytona incomings these past 2 weeks didn’t help. Seeing members getting Daytona’s left and right. Some getting 2 in one year or more naturally made me yearn even more. Furthermore if the call does come in 2021 I’ll cross that bridge when and if I get there. Not holding my breath Life’s to short and if you want something and have the funds and means then I obviously feel you should do what makes you happy. This does. Checks off all my boxes for my Rolex collection. Just gotta wait till Saturday. Santa Claus closed Fed Ex on Friday. Here’s a pic of my Sub incoming and lie. Anyway Merry Christmas everyone and pics in a few days

Congrats! My grey Daytona says hi. My grey BLRO as well (and his twin AD-sourced one). Funny times.

Great on you to take initiative, because you love a piece. Might I ask ... what dial color on the DaytonaC?!

Color? Black. I’m partial to Black dials. Signature line is mostly all black. Everything is black is except 1 Sub, 1 Daytona, and 1 OP. Anyway Merry Christmas everyone. 1 more day!!!

Congratulations. Within the last month I have picked up both of the SS Daytona-C's. I went Trusted Seller as I refuse to play the AD game and have the associated frustration and disappointment. I negotiated my best deal and went forward. I really like the watches and do not mind paying fair market price. While money is always a factor, it was not and is not, my sole motivator when I buy watches. I also believe that there is a value from the pleasure you receive from ownership and wear. Good job and enjoy.

Thank you from a fellow North Carolinian. We obviously know how hard it is for some of us in this state. To all our fellow North Carolinians that can and have went the A D route, more power to all of you. I’ve been lucky for quite a few SS models via an A D but a 116500 I tend to hear the same thing over and over, “That one is gonna be incredibly hard because we get so few so I don’t know” Well thats my last box to check off and I just got tired of waiting. Is what it is but I don’t even have it yet and I have zero regrets. MSRP is just that, “suggested” retail price. Doesn’t mean that’s market value. Same thing you find in cars, handbags, and others. Numerous threads about this and the Rolex world at the moment. Is what it is.

Thank you brother. That’s the plan. I’m definitely not giving up the hope. Who knows maybe if and when the call comes it will be a white dial. Then I’ll be just like you. Granted missing the 116519LN but first things first then the wishes I’m not too superstitious but I’ve read that a few here on TRF that as soon as they went Grey they got the call. Including you I think. Fingers crossed!! Wish me luck. I’m gonna need it

It’s here!!
After a little worry on the delivery, mostly by me it’s here and all I can say is wow. I’m so happy and satisfied. Zero regrets. Like none.
I know this is going to sound crazy but I suffer from a touch of ocd with goals. Like it’s all I can focus on when I set one. I’ve made quite a few in my life when it comes to work, finances, and yes even with Rolex. I’ve been on a straight up mission with Rolex as I’ve had quite a few incomings these past 16 months trying to reach a goal. This one completes the goal!! I’ve looked over the entire Rolex website and outside of full PM I don’t see anything that’s in my future wants. Yes there are a ton a amazing pieces on the site, a ton, but when look at my collection I feel complete. Which was the goal. Yes I know I’ve said it before but never at this point in my collection and when I did I always said.......Unless unless. Which was the 116500. Still keeping the hope alive for an A D call on one but outside of that I seriously doubt there will be anymore incomings for me. Still gonna visit TRF daily which makes it dangerous but I love this site. Anyway enough rambling, here it is and a group shot of some of the ones in the house. Yes I’m partial to black. Sorry my picture taking skills suck
