Who gave a xmas gift to their Sales Assoc.?

Do you normally gift your Rolex SA/s during xmas? If so, what did you gift them this year if you don’t mind sharing.

Has it paid off for you in the past in terms of consideration for your desired pieces?

I did, but just because he's a solid guy...100 dollar gift certificate to a local restaurant group. Don't give anything because you're trying to edge in, just do it if you want to do something nice...

I gave some gifts out with the express intention of getting a call. They’re fine people but they ain’t my friends. The relationship is transactional, period. Don’t kid yourself into thinking otherwise.

Have to agree in many ways IMHO just be polite to any store keeper, because thats all any AD is a store keeper, who sells Rolex watches for his/hers business nothing more.

I completely disagree. I’m pretty close with a couple of my sales people. One person has since left and I still talk with him all the time. Perhaps your people sense you feel that way. If so that can make all the difference in the world when a highly desirable piece comes in.

I have received every piece I’ve wanted for the most part. I just don’t conflate personal relationships and business transactions. I’m super friendly and relational yet I know how I would be treated by the same wonderful people if I had only $2000 to spend in a visit. I can like the people I transact with but I’m clear about the nature of these relationships. I used to reluctantly (they make me very uncomfortable) go to adult dance type bars when I was a younger man. There was always one among our group that truly thought the dancers cared and had feelings for them. I’m not saying it’s similar but I’m hearing a lot of the same vibes in here

I understand. An upstairs/downstairs kind of thing.

I agree you will be engaging a transaction SA, that’s it.

Now I have a few AD’s, but for Christmas I only have one that I honestly give a $50.00 restaurant gift card and I throw $100.00 in the envelope. He has been very straight forward with me from day one and I appreciate that and we have became friends.

Will this give me pts or an edge maybe but that is not the reason why I give that small gift out. I give it out of heart as I do my other gifts to friends and family. My relationship with my AD is close and loyal; I wait and be patient.

Remember if you are talking about something “fake” or “prefabricated” etc they can tell a mile away. Same goes with gifts for your SA. They will know when you doing it to try to get something.

Don’t get confused with giving a gift for appreciation. Say you got a piece you really wanted this year come Christmas time you take your SA a gift.. that’s cool.

Cool post OP..

Then maybe you should give to someone in need?

What makes you think he doesn’t already have that covered? Do you know him personally?

Are you suggesting that he might have covered all people in need in this world and had extra $100 left for his AD?

Yes I’m extremely daft and thought sechsgang was Santa Claus.

This is the Rolex forum not the peace core. I’m suggesting he probably already helps many in need and that’s his business.

Would have dropped a tin of chocolates for everyone in the store to share, but we went into a tier 4 lockdown with less than 24 hours warning so no chance to deliver them to the store.

Suppose I better eat them then.

I gave a modest gift to show appreciation for the outstanding service I've received. I don't do it to move me up any 'list' that may or may not exist - just a small "thank you" for a job well done.

I always try and bring something for the whole team a few day after getting a new watch to show thanks. Nothing big. Donuts and coffee or bagels. That said, I do the same thing at other businesses that treat me and my family well.

Depends, If you would like the AD to sell you a watch at MSRP that has close to and sometimes double that amount in market value, my answer would be yes. I have found and realized over the years that the more I give, more comes back to me.

Last I checked, I’m the customer, the one with the money. I buy the watches, and jewelry, they treat me well, I receive great service, an occasional promo item. My AD is doing fine with my business, and many other customers.

Lol, are you all sending gifts to your realtor, car SA, Dr, pharmacist, vet, local PD, FPD or are Watch S.A. the only ones treating you good. There was a time when the customer would get a thank you token.
