600 posts deep and it’s time for a tribute to some underrated vintage models!

My dear TRF family...felt the need to pay tribute to some of the most underrated Rolex models IMO, the 36mm, sleek bad boy 6424 and the elegant sleeper WG 1803/9...
Just look at these guys...! Pure beauty. Their time will come I’m pretty sure. The white gold 1803 is second to none in the vintage field in my book...Rolex most beautiful model! Some pics for enjoyment!

The 6424 Oyster Precision is probably the most under-rated vintage watch ever for me. Absolutely stunning in its clean simplicity, and I love the fat tips on the coronet. I narrowly missed out on one of these a couple years ago, and was absolutely gutted.

I might choose that over the DD, all things considered.

Tried to post a video but didn’t manage to get it to work. Anyone knows which tread the video posting instructions are?

I have the same two, albeit different dial on the 1803. Lovely watches. The 6424 is so thin and light and unassuming you can wear it with anything; the WG is subtle in a different way. Two of mine that won't get sold in the coming months. Good for you!

Newbie question: what difference between 6424 and 6426? Both 1220/1225 caliber?

6424 is the 36mm, 6426 is the 34mm. 36 generally sells for about 30% more. Very similar thickness on the wrist.

Dead giveaway from photos (eBay and the like), the 6426 have lug-holes, the 6424 do NOT. If you see a 6424 with lug-holes, usually it's being misidentified due to a swapped case-back (or more nefarious reason).
