Incoming! Just walked into the store

Walked into the AD today just to look around and they had this in the case. I had only seen one in the flesh before. This is my first Grand Seiko. My father has many Seikos that he accumulated through the years. This is a nice homage to his collection.

I’m looking for a leather or alligator bracelet to put on it. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Congrats! I’ve been eyeing one ever since I tried one on back in 2019. They are incredible.

Congrats! It’s an awesome watch. I had one for a few years and have always regretted selling it. Don’t sell yours!

It’s an amazing thing, isn’t it - walking into a watch store and buying a watch.

Ditto on this! Any of us that are able to do this are incredibly fortunate. Last time I did this, I frankly felt a bit ridiculous just walking into a store and not planning on buying a watch, but walking out with one (BB58).

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

This is a Strap monster ! One of the most versatile pieces I have ever owned- the drilled lug-holes make it super easy.

I really like "Delug straps" - their easy change springbars allow for a strap change in seconds -

What is the lug width? If by chance it is 19mm I can vouch for this strap. My JDM GS 9F came on an OEM black strap and as I rarely wear black leather I added this to the collection. The quality is amazing!

Really beautiful and versatile watch. This would look great with a croc strap.

I’m actually going with a bespoke gator strap from https://www.vellealexander.com/

I traded a few emails with him today and he was very quick to respond. He says it will take a week. I like that he’s a small business in the US as well.

I liked these too: https://atelierdelsur.com/
However I want a croc/gator which they don’t offer. I’ll likely pick up a shell cordovan and suede in the near future. They were quick to reply on Instagram

I've ordered from Alex/vellealexander before and he's great. Super helpful and knowledgeable. In the process of getting another right now!

Very nice, congrats!

As for straps, ABP or Jean Rousseau would be two good places to start looking.

Congrats! I put mine on a keep piece blue calf strap with gs deployant. Gs ad sold me deployant for $100. Odd size with 16mm st the clasp. Keeps excellent time and light as a feather. Texture of dial is amazing.

$100 for a GS deployant?! That’s a steal

Asked him to do it part of the deal because I told him wanted to out it on leather. Took a lot of looking around to find strap that was 20/16 or 18/26. Store. Can’t remember lug width but connection at deployant was 16mm.

Very nice! Can you post a picture of the buckle closed?

I’m going with this exact strap with the chamfered end
