First New Month with Skydweller!!

Indulge me, I’m still excited. Just got Skydweller a few weeks back and today was the first day of a new month. Brought a smile to my face when I saw the annual calendar change to February!

Noting like this complication really. The fact that Rolex movement designers managed to control this movement by one single crown and taking advantage of the bezel is pure genius.
Enjoy.

Exactly. This is the reason I love interacting with the watch, especially every March 1st. So easy and enjoyable to use!

I wear the Sky-Dweller in rotation from February to April every year.

Yeah. Good huh?

Sky Dweller owners will have to have a lie down this time next month after the annual March 1st manual date adjustment .

Exhausting!

Luckily March covered up by the cyclops or else my OCD would short circuit!

No sir. Each hour marker represents the month. 12 for December, 1 for January etc etc.

To the OP I can relate to your joy. I have the exact same model and dial color. Love it. I'm a little bit of a nerd I guess and recorded the month change with my iphone a while black and play it in slow mode. Pretty cool. Or at least I thought so

Well there’s a thing! I’ve been staring at the pic for ages trying to work out how you identify the month. Now I see it. Had no idea the skydweller has this feature. You live and learn.

Clever huh?

I'll keep an eye out for the March cyclops thing. I think I can see it but it probably depends on the angle. I'll know this time next month.

Now that I have a pair of Sky Dwellers, it's going to be interesting to see what mine do on Feb 28/29. Last year, different owners reported different date change behaviour. Some went to March 1st after February 29th, some went to February 30th and needed a nudge on. I'm going to let both of mine run onto Feb 29th and see what happens after that.

Sky-Dwellers have to be manually adjusted on March 1st, as the 9001 movement does not recognize the 28 or 29 ends of February. This makes the 9001 an Annual movement.
If the watch could recognize Feb 28 and 29, and switch to March 1st as needed, that would make it a Perpetual movement.
Perhaps someday Rolex will introduce a Perpetual date model.

Congrats! Imho the most mechanically interesting movement Rolex produces. Have had other brand annual and perpetual calendars, and must say the SkyD is leaps ahead with WP and ease of use. Wearing my SS SkyD blue right now
