How are you feeling after hearing they are re-releasing the watch with the new movement?

For myself, I'm disappointed.

I'm curious where everyone(s) thoughts.

I'm happy because I sold mine years ago when you had to sell at a loss. Now I can get back in the game at retail.

I'm glad people who preferred a certain bracelet style can now be accommodated.

I got my watch to enjoy - cheers to everyone who can get one too

What is there to be disappointed about? You still have the original watch with a more reliable movement.

This. The 32XX series has its birth pains. I had the 126333 which kept losing seconds even after claiming warranty, so I sold it and went for 31XX watches and never looked back.

As with cars, new tech (or in this case, new movement) isn't always something to look forward to.

In your signature, I agree. Milgauss is the coolest watch ever. I would NEVER sell mine.

LOL.

Not to mention it has the ultra accurate 3131 movement.

I fully agree. It will always be the first generation, and I wouldn't trade any watch with the 31XX movement for a watch with the 32XX movement.

MK1 Batman with robust tried and tested silent movement is no brainer. Who cares about 72 vs 48 hours. The new phrase will be jingly jangly for new movement, something like jingly jangly bracelet on old Rolex .

Don't care to be honest. I've owned mine for 5 years now. It's consistently in the top 3 of my rotation.

You can aim to get the Pepsi to complete the GTM oyster series...

For price wise, Pepsi oyster price will go to the moon follow by Batman oyster.

The old Batman oyster price will go up too...

There is only ever one first, and IMO its one of the top icons of the 6 digit Rolex watches (along with DaytonaC and Hulk)

It explains why they emptied their vaults of NOS in November.

I bought mine 4 years ago at retail price. No regret, love it. It has a large sign attached to it "Not for sale!"

Oof..there’s nothing exclusive about the 116710BLNR now. It’s an inferior movement and not as fun as 126710BLNR when it comes to bracelet options. Pretty sure the grey price will take a hit. Glad I sold mine at peak.

Agree with this. Glad to [hopefully] see the prices come down on these.

This explains my thought perfectly.

However, I'm still very happy I have my watch, which I gifted to myself after graduating college on behalf of my dad that has passed, so there is sentimental value behind it.

I was curious on where everyone's thoughts were. (Please do not take offense to my post anyone!!!)

Hummmm I think the price might be less than 126710blnr, but sure enough it will continue to go up as it is pegged with 126710blnr

I have to disagree about the movement.
The 31 series is proven, reliable and accurate while the newer 32 series is the exact opposite.
Having experienced the low amplitude issue first hand on a 2019 watch, went back to Rolex in July 2020 to be fixed and only 3 months later the same issue, wouldn’t buy a 32 series again until Rolex cures the movement problem.
My 20 year old Daytona runs within 1 second/day and even my 1972 Day Date runs within plus 2 seconds/day

No idea what it will do to the prices (and I don't really care TBH), but I'd have to disagree with the "inferior movement" comment.

Personally I'd take a rock solid 3187 over a potentially problematic 3285 any day of the week, for the sake of a few extra hours PR.

Odd assumption. That was the thinking about the 116520 Daytona when the 500 came out. Check the prices today. The inferior and not as much fun comments is one perspective I guess. I don’t share those opinions.
Did you also sell bitcoin at its “peak” early last year? Since watches are not a commodity to me, disappointment is the last thing I think about of my 7 year old BLNR when it is on my wrist. I think of this as a anniversary gift from my wife.

That watch looks amazing for 7 years old!

Not for nothing though, the post you quoted does have a very solid point. If you’re in the market for the BLNR why buy a 2016 model for 18k when you can get the new BLNR for whatever that gray price most likely will be which will probably be in the mid 20s...?

Thx. Because you can have the OG BLNR for less and it’s essentially the same watch. In any case it is impossible to tell as the last 3 years have shown about Rolex prices and lack of availability at retail.

“OG BLNR” isn’t a thing in the real world. What does that even mean. Not being aggressive here just trying to understand. You can pay an absurd amount for an older discontinued model or pay and absurd amount for an upgraded model with bracelet options. That’s what the real world will see.

I don’t get why it should matter. You purchased and like the watch for what it is right?? Nothing has changed. There is nothing limited or even exclusive about the BLNR in any generation to be threatened by.
