First time buyer & Question on Women's Rolex
After 10 years of hemming and hawing, I have finally bought my grail watch and first real luxury watch - a 1998 14060 Submariner. It came down to buying a brand new 2021 now that they toned down the case and an older model. I decided on a really nice 1998 from WatchChest as it looked great, was fully serviced, and came with a 3 year warranty. I also think that from a long term perspective, it will hold or increase value a little better due to the age. No idea, though, and I did not buy it as an investment to sell for profit. This will go to one of my sons. Looking forward to getting it on Tuesday.
That being said, my wife now is interested in one as well. I was thinking his and her Submariners, but it is not her style. Is there another rolex that will at least hold value that is a woman's watch variety? I was also thinking a 36mm explorer or date just. Thanks! Tom |

Does she want a brand new (current) offering, or something older / discontinued like yourself?

I think a 5 digit Sub looks amazing on a woman. My wife wears a 114060 (barely pulls it off ).
If it’s not her style there are plenty of Datejusts that are very popular and a nice range of case sizes and dial combinations Congratulations |

Rolex just re-introduced the Lady Explorer 36mm that I think she will love. My wife had me put her on the list with my AD yesterday:)
BTW...I am completely joking about the moniker "Lady Explorer" but I am still a bit salty about the discontinuation of the 39mm...lol

It'll be difficult via AD but some of the new color dial 36mm OPs are a fantastic option when it comes to holding its value

Any of the 36mms will hold their value but if she can pull it off the TT Daytona is the best watch for a woman

Look for a new Oyster Perpetual in any color she prefers. For value retention, the turquoise are doing great. Get on the waitlist for the sizes and colors she likes and be willing to wait 1-2 years and you'll probably do very well.

Buy an Air King of the same vintage. The last two non-chronometer Rolexes* side by side :).

The new colors on the Oyster Perpetual are great. Just don’t bump me lower on the 2 lists I have my name on for either the candy pink or turquoise blue 36!!

Oh, and she really doesn’t know what she likes, I figured I would get some intel before she looks to steer her in the right direction.

TT Daytona looks great for both men and women.
With little wait you can obtain from AD at MSRP.
