Vacheron Constantin winding
I have a new VC Overseas (which I love) and I can wind it 20-30 times and it doesn't start until I give it one tiny swirl. I have a JLC with in-house movement that does the same thing. Both run perfectly (+-2 seconds/24 hrs.), have excellent power reserves, date turns over precisely at 12 (and I mean precisely), and absolutely no issues.
Question is: Is it just a unique artifact of these in-house movements that the winding action (from dead start) just isn't very heavy? Because the tiny, tiny swirl starts the rotor, no problem, and the watches are definitely wound because they keep running after that swirl even if I put them down at that moment. Just curious. Should be normal i guessed. I have similar experience but on and off. Some times it just starts ticking after a few winds.
