Ring… Ring….

Got the call.

Haven’t bought any thing from AD since I got my BLNR nearly 5 years ago. Frustrated with the supply chain, logistics. Not really favoring the grey market… although I do enjoy some of the YouTube shows that show a glimpse of the behind the scenes of the trade.

In the Fall 2020 put my name in the hat for a Rolex Airking. Essentially had given up. In Spring 2021 I was in Orlando for spring break and went window shopping at Mayors. Ended up scoring a Tudor BB58 Black on a bracket. No kidding, probably 2 hours later got a call from my Rolex AD offering me the Air King. Explained to him I just purchased the Tudor, and couldn’t swing both and didn’t want to turn over the Tudor to the grey market. He understood and said he appreciated the honesty, and had another person interested in the Airking.

Had given up on the more favorable models, so after some reflection decided to go for the SD43. Same song and dance… allocations/shortage. Regardless dealer took name and said he would keep me in mind. Nearly 4 weeks later, got the call.

When in Friday and tried it out! It’s certainly robust and a change from the BLNR. Asked the dealer to let me chew it over until Monday, he agreed.

So now in the process of lining up financials, and will go get it Monday!

Good move. I’m still unclear why this watch doesn’t garner more attention in the TRF community. I don’t have one, nor would I buy one, but I can see why people should.

Congrats! Next week it will be 1 year that I'm waiting on my SD43. No call....
And I've bought a DJ41 Wimbledon and Tudor BB Chrono (currently in for warranty service) from him this year. So I don't know what's up.

Congrats. I appreciate hearing these personal stories and people being honest. You made out great in the end with the SD43 as it complements your BLNR perfectly. Update with pics for sure.

Well, rested on it over the weekend. After time to reflect, I decided to go for it. Went and picked it up today!

Overall great experience. Glad to support local AD, and build that relationship.

Use Tapatalk and let see it. You got a stunner of a watch that I’m sure you’ll love Dan.
Enjoy.

Tapatalk is the best and most convenient way to attach images.

Congratulations on a great piece!

I use ImageSize app to reduce the pics I take with my Iphone to the acceptable 200mb size then use manage extensions to attach them.

Congrats on the SD43! I met with my somewhat local AD a couple of weeks ago about getting a stainless Sea Dweller 43. Pretty optimistic overall that I will get one but as expected a big unknown as of when. Can’t wait to have it and despite other opinions I’m confident I will be comfortable with the size on my 6.5” flat wrist. Enjoy!
