Happy Holidays and my ad just called at Xmas Eve!
Happy holidays fellow rolex lovers! Just something like to share
First of all, I have to say I have been lucky and blessed with all my collections at retail prices. When I was still a rookie about rolex, I got a wedding present which was a GMT batman in 2017. Didn't pay much attention to the brand at the time (but I do love watches but at Oris or Tag kinda level), but the batman in the catalog caught my eye. So I put my name down and got a call 2 weeks later on sunday morning. The sales told me she called two persons ahead but didn't pick up. So I got the watch (went with my cousin because she paid as a wedding gift) without knowing how lucky I was. Then this is how it started and became super addicted. After the wedding I started to randomly calling the ads around for a hulk. The market already became very hot at the time (2018) and most of the ads won't even take waitlist for this piece. So I also tried my luck by calling a few smaller ads south of the border (yes I live in Canada so I tried US ads). Got my luck again. One ad took my name and called me 2 weeks later. So I paid over the phone with credit card and picked it up a few days later. Then the market just became worse and then the pandemic hit. It is almost impossible to even get a watch. My sales at the small ad also retired but referred me to his colleague. Chated with her time to time but just no luck because rolex stopped production for 3 months caused worldwide shortage. But of course i know there are also tons of people are ahead of me. Finally she texted back in November and I got my GMT pepsi steel. 1 month later got another text and I got a new rosegold DJ41 Wimbledon. Can't say thank her enough to bring so much joy to myself and family. Had a rough year with the new born kid and work. Didn't rest a day and feel so rewarding and excited. Anyways, happy holidays! Wish you all healthy and well in 2022. |
