Yes, I have a Ebel Voyager, this is a pic of the model, (borrrowed from another site) I'm thinking of selling it as it gets no wrist time.

No, but as a fan of complication watches, I wouldn't mind having this one.

Well I don't consider Omega and BM in the same class. I would agree Ebel is on a par with BM though.
To me, that sit in that grey area between serious watches and fashion watches. Of course, some here will likely consider them more firmly than I do in one of these camps. They don't make any movements though and a that's deemed a serious black mark by some (not me though). If you to buy one please chose carefully as the resale market is very weak and you'll take a huge loss compared to Rolex and even most Omega models. |

We have two of the 1911 series chronometers. They are the most comfortable watchs I have ever owned. Well balanced and they have very smooth angles. I have owned several over the years. They are not a very good investment in terms of resale.

My wife has one, she likes it, but since she go the Panerai, the Ebel gets little wrist time.
Something to with her age, eyesight, larger dial on the Panny. Don't tell her I just said that.

I got an Ebel BTR 1911 GMT earlier this year. I'm pretty happy with it. Got it for about the same cash as my Air-King but it's got date, dual-time and feels like a lot more watch for the money. Wrote a review for it here, actually.

I have a BTR Chrono myself. Actually, BigHat, Ebel makes in-house movements that are quite solid and the entire BTR line uses them. The resale value issue is quite sad as they are probably one of the most innovative companies when it comes to having a very solid, balanced point of view on product design. They are wonderful watches. I suspect the value will pick up in time if you take care of the watch. Tastes change.

My lovely Ebel 1911 chrono from the early '90's. Bought on Ebay about 3 years ago for $600. That's way too low for it's quality and rarity. So good to buy used. Now this watch goes for around 1K used. This watch uses the Zenith El Primero like the first Daytona automatics.

Beautiful watch! Again, I really like that they've stuck to their design roots.

Even dealers are undervaluing them. I remember buying my BTR 1911 GMT at an authorized dealer in Hongkong for less than online prices. Usually online prices are as low as dealers will go for watches.

I have two Ebel Brasilia watches. One in 18Kt and one SS, both on Alligator deployant straps. Very nice dress watches.

Ebel is positioned above both Omega and BM not only in price but also in workmanship considering their inhouse workings.

once held a 1911 in 18ct , and it was stunning, and about twenty years ago eye wateringly expensive. but still look at them with lust.

There was one local jeweler in my city who I really trusted for a variety of reasons. (My local Rolex AD is not on my trusted list but that's an entirely different post!) When I asked his opinion on watches he pulled no punches - he felt Patek and Ebel the only two worth selling. Patek for their craftsmanship and service and Ebel for their balance of quality and price along with decent service. He was very outspoken about the "usual" Swiss brands being over priced for what you get considering how poor his experience was with service from more than one brand. He did speak highly of Rolex - but wasn't a fan of the hoops one had to jump through to be an AD. My 2 cents.....worth double what you paid for it!

Most watches have poor resale values. If you are a serial flipper and concerned about residual, then buy PP or Rolex (but only the Oyster range, not Cellini). Don't buy an Ebel, or JLC, or most any other brands. If you are buying to keep, then what does it matter.
I particularly like the Ebel Hexagon range. |

Ebel is one of the most under rated Swiss watches IMHO. Quality and reliability are first rate. This is my Ebel:

Superb quality. Here's my BTR.
You can get this watch for $2K-something. Inhouse movement (same as in Breguet XX). Very underrated watch and great value for money (if you buy second hand). The finish on my BTR easily equals or even surpasses Omega. https://luxurywatches635.wordpress.c...r-chronograph/ ![]() ![]()

I love the look, but I wonder about the size of the chrono buttons. I was considering a Grand Seiko with buttons like that but reconsidered. Still, quite beautiful. |
