Batgirl vs Pepsi

Hi - I'm new to the forums so just curious what people's thoughts are. I'm debating between trying to get a GMT Master II with jubliee bracelet with either the black/blue "batgirl" bezel or the pepsi bezel.

I was leaning heavily toward batgirl until I saw the pepsi in the case at my AD. Curious what others preferences are between the two. Thanks!

Red and blue is the original color scheme and is most recognizable and more popular. Blue and black is a new color scheme and less recognizable and sought after.

I tried on a Pepsi and didn’t like the red. I thought it looked cheap and toyish. The red is more of a purple.

I prefer the batgirl because it’s more low key and just looks more aesthetically pleasing to me. I like the blue gmt hand as well.

My guess is 90% of people prefer the Pepsi though

I have both. To be honest, I prefer the Pepsi slightly....

I think it’s just boils down to which color scheme you prefer. I’ve had both but meshed more with my Pepsi.

I dislike the Pepsi colors on ceramic bezels. I have a 116710BLNR and 16710BLRO. Perfect combo.

I chose the Pepsi, love it

Also depends what else you have, to me the Batgirl combo looked to similar to a submariner

Spot on response. I agree 100%.

I really wanted to love the 126710BLRO (being as it's the classic colourway, etc, etc) and I was on the list for over a year for one, but when it came in I was less than impressed with the bezel colours. I passed on it.

My 116710BLNR on the other hand will never be going anywhere.

I love the Batgirl, one of my favourite looking watches, Pepsi I’m slightly less keen on but it’s still stunning. As ever though it’s personal choice. I have no chance of either from my AD so haven’t even asked to try one on

I have both and love both equally, they are gorgeous.

You should get the one that sings to you the most or get both of them.

Pepsi... especially with the newest gen bezels. You won't be disappointed.

This. I have a late 2022 ceramic Pepsi and I think the colors are very well done. Like with most non-black ceramic bezels, the type of lighting can determine how a color appears to your eyes. It's also an icon. Hard to beat it.

Been offered BLNR and BLRO at the same time. I chose BLNR. Like some other people said and it resonance with my opinion - Red is look cheap and toyish on this watch. But it's MOO, do what you please.

Thanks for all of the opinions! My AD offered to register my interest but couldn't be very specific on timing. Has anyone been seeing these come within a few months? I was expecting it could be a year or more given currently inventory.

The BLNR was produced because Rolex was having a problem getting suitable colors for a BLRO in the ceramic insert. The blue/red insert is the original color combo on the 1954 ref 6542 GMT-Master and because of that history is still the most desirable. Personally, I prefer either an all black or pepsi insert, and with my 16710 I can swap to either insert in five minutes. Hopefully, Rolex will bring back a noir ceramic insert reference soon.

To which I'd say they still are to a certain extent.... although I will concede they have improved over the years.

The Pepsi is iconic and the original color way for this reference. Otherwise it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Prefer the BLRO by a mile. It’s iconic and way more visually interesting.

I would choose the BLRO. Classic and iconic. BLNR is a great too, but the colors just pop with the BLRO. Disagree with it being “toyish”. Different color due to the ceramic from the previous generation but a stunning watch in person.

BLNR, or CHNR. I don't like the clown GMT as Pan Am pilots called it.

I passed on the BLNR twice waiting for the Pepsi and it was well worth the wait.

They are both awesome. Pepsi is more iconic, but I think the BLNR just looks better day to day on the wrist. Then again, if I got the pepsi first I'm sure I would be perfectly happy with that.

Get whichever one sings to you, or whichever is offered to you.
