speedy 57 40.5mm

A lot of the new releases today are disappointing and look like imitations of Rolex but this watch might become my daily.

40.5mm 13mm thick and a date… the lug to lug of almost 50mm concerns me though… otherwise this is near perfect for me as a daily beater.

I liked the updates to this collection as well. More attention going elsewhere, but these are well done updates.

The black dial will be my first speedy. These have been lost in the colourful ATs and green SMP excitement but the reduction in size plus flat link bracelet/micro adjust is a win imo.

Love the Burgundy. That could be coming my way.

I've been resisting saying this because enthusiasm for the new model is a good thing, but I wish the movement were more interesting to look at. I love that this movement is hand-wound, and I love its technical specs and prowess, but I hope it looks better in person than in photos.

I shrug of the shoulders. Neither good or bad and just an option that I will not buy.

Love it and when the Burgundy dial is available I’m going to add that to the watch roll.

This is also my favourite out of all the ones released, just have to decide on the colour now.

An $8,600 "beater". Now that's a conversation my dad never had.

I don't know what you want me to say... but for context i have a platinum DD40... so in context to that does it make sense this would be a beater?

Would certainly consider getting one. But torn between the green and the blue. Need to see it in person first

This is the one - I just wish it didn't have that date window.

the key reason i want is the date window. Most of my chronos don't have dates and I really find it useful esp at work.

Same. Without it, and it becomes very Tudor-y

The blue on bracelet is a banger. I will get one, eventually.

I like the watch but find the manual wind impractical. Also, the movement is not particularly interesting to look at. So, my mixed feelings can't justify the price tag.

Same. I really struggle with a manual wound piece at this price tag.

I think the dark grey/black sandwich dial and cut out lume looks the best by far. And now the perfect size! I can't afford them all though!

The blue dial looks amazing, but the 50mm lug-to-lug will be a deal breaker for me.

Ditto. I feel like this is a big miss for omega … if it was 47mm LTG, it would be a massive hit (IMO).

These are my favorites of the new Omega releases for sure. I just love the steel bezel.

I really like the black/sandwich dial but am turned off by the fauxtina. Black sandwich dial with crisp white markings and hands and I’d be all over it.

The 50mm lug-lug on a 40mm watch is going to lose a lot of buyers (me included). Metas auto with vertical clutch, column wheel, great styling. The sandwich dial was a great take as well, just a shame about the lugs.

Metas auto means 14.5mm though. I’d prefer thin/wearable to auto for me
