I got the call! I think?? I'll find out in two days!

Have been hunting down the Exp I since release date. Emailed the boutique, got a stock answer back and they told me to go visit. Visited a couple months later (local, but not in the area often) and got my name down on a list.

Visited again to meet with the sales manager (he told me to go visit if I'm in the area). He was around but with another customer. I waited awkwardly in the boutique for 30m; yes, they have seats and things to read and check out exhibition models, but really pointless when you're there alone and no SA to chat with. I left and sent him an email letting him know I missed him just so he could capture my attendance

The sales manager called me yesterday and just asked if I had time to come in on Thursday. Of course I can. So I've got an appointment in two days to go to the boutique. I wasn't given any reason why but can only assume it's to pick up a watch. The Exp I is the only one on my list; already have a Sub C Date, tried a DJ but it just wasn't my thing. I'm really, really hoping this was "the call" but I won't really find out until Thursday.

Funny thing was I told my wife who I thought would give me hell, but she's seen/read the news stories on the Rolex shortage, so she was very understanding and even encouraging.

I'm hoping nobody's ever had their time wasted to go into the boutique literally "just to chat" and go back home empty handed, but that's my current expectation. Definitely bringing the credit card with me though

Someone posted a thread about an incoming but that it would be coming in 9 days. He never gave an update or responded to anyone. I actually tried finding that thread yesterday… it may have been removed.

Ha ha, like the creature from "The Ring" where she calls you right after you view the video tape and in a creepy, raspy voice says "seven days!" Every day after that she calls you again and counts down the days. At least she shows up. This guy... promised a major reveal and then disappeared.

If it were me, I would call back and ask the reason he wants to see me. I like to know what is going on and if I'm getting a watch I want to prepare for that. Also, I would struggle to hide my agitation of being asked to come in for essentially no reason if there was no watch there waiting for me.

Let's hope he doesn’t want to sit you down and go through your 'expression on interest' and talk about 'wish lists'.

You guys must either be retired or have a lot of free time and flexibility. I don't have that kind of time that I can take off work just in case that maybe a dealer might have something that they won't promise is available or even what I want.

In other words, if I'm waiting for a Explorer and he's got a nice yellow gold Sub waiting there for me, I would not be a happy camper.
