Dropped my Daytona

So I forgot my Panda was sitting on a towel and dropped it on a tiled floor from about 3 feet with some velocity. Must have hit the ground on the Saphire glass - no external damage or dinks whatsoever. The Saphire isn’t damaged either.
Only thing that happened was the Chrono hand moving by a few seconds. Reset the Chrono and the watch is running fine.
But - when i shake the case there’s quite a loud noise of something moving in the case, I guess something is damaged? I shook all my other watches and apart from my vintage Sea Dweller none make a sound.
I still have warranty on the watch so will the RSC fix this for free?

Oh no, not another tile floor mishap. Possible rotor damage. This will be on your dime to fix it as it was damaged by operator abuse.

Pull out the crown to hack the movement. Send for service. They’ll be able to see what happened. Just accept paying to get it fixed properly.

I will take it to the RSC tomorrow, it’s 5 years old soon anyway. Time for an early service. The bracelet could do with some polishing too.

Sorry to hear about the drop. I think this question needs to be answered by other owners on here with the exact same reference.

I hear that this reference can make a loud rotor noise when moving it even when it’s not been dropped

Share what was damaged, when you know, please. We’ve all had mishaps. Always interesting to learn more about these watches and the hobby.

I learned that a steel bar connects hard with the lugs and makes a memory . Wish I had a pic of that one, but I later sold it.

I will, I am just considering taking it to a Rolex accredited watch maker instead. That should be quicker than giving it to the RSC no? Don’t want to be Panda less for months :)

Take it to RSC for peace of mind. Just be a little more patient. It will be worth it.

You are right, I only got it 2 weeks ago so that’s a bit of a downer :)

Good call! If they can get parts, it'll be faster. I would, too.

I wouldn’t. Only RSC comes with a Rolex service warranty.

Even if it’s an accredited Rolex watch maker you don’t get a Rolex service guarantee?

"I should take this off before showering so it doesn't get wet" *sets it on towel*.

jk

I know that feeling and it stinks for sure. Like you said, look on the bright side. Time for a full service and it'll come back new and shiny and regulated.

I jumped into a pool with my iPhone in my pocket once. I literally had nightmares about it for years. That feeling as I'm hitting of water of remembering it's in my pocket. Pure dread.

It'll workout just fine.

This is precisely why all watches should be worn with one of those bumper cases like the Apple Watch. You wouldn’t be panda-less if there was a bumper case on the watch. Everyone thinks it’s foolish to use bumper cases but I don’t look so foolish now with a bumper case on my wrist.

I have no idea what a bumper case for a watch is, but if it looks silly I’m not wearing it. I’d rather be Panda less for a while than looking like a nerd, no offence to all proud nerds of course. Sounds like a car bra for a watch :)

Imagine a silicon case for you iPhone. But instead of your iPhone it’s your Daytona. It’s a no brainer.

I can understand people do it with their iPhone but not with a watch.
I rather break it another time than doing that tbh. I have never even heard about cases for watches. You mind posting a wrist shot?

Sure, happy to help. Here is a bumper case for an Apple Watch. Get one for your Daytona. It will look amazing

I have googled it but nothing comes up for watches. Closest there is is the plastic bezel protector from Rolex
