Honestly you could flip a coin. They’re both beautiful. I think you should pick a dial colour and then decide on the gold colour after. JMO

Rose gold is definitely more modern. That’s what I would choose. I would wait till the end of the month to see if there really is a rose blue dial which would be amazing.

Also take into account your skin type & color. Ideally, find two yellow & rose pieces (good luck with a Rolex) side by side, put each on your wrist and you will likely know immediately. Good luck with your search!

^Co-sign on this. RG and YG may look a certain way when you see it on people and in photos, but it looks totally different in the metal and in contrast with your natural skin tones.

This! On my skin, rose blends in and that may be what you want. Yellow pops. I prefer the contrast of yellow. Rose is a trend right now but yellow is making a comeback. I just think you should base it on how it looks on your wrist versus what others may think. Both are beautiful.

Some validity to this!

I wore rose for the past 12 years and 10 years ago a server at a restaurant complimented my rose and said she never seen a guy wearing rose!
And that formula of rose wasn’t as brownish as today’s!
I still proudly wear it!

Both beautiful, but the everose is more modern. The color can vary depending on the lighting. I went for everose because I already have a TT DJ41 in yg.

I've always said this if its your first DD it NEEDS to be a YG DD.

Nothing beats it - and the true classic.

Both great looking watches. RG seems to be the metal now for a lot of people but I prefer the YG as it will not go out of style. Also, RG is difficult to match with other accessories such as cufflinks, belts, pens, etc.

Personal choice really, as both are beautiful! Rose gold doesn’t work for me personally, I like a bit more pop, and I’m more traditional if going with a color other than WG or PT. YG just looks “right” to me ….especially in the DD.

Agreed! If/when I get a DD it'll be yellow gold for the pop.

Rose is considered more modern, and by some accounts more feminine, as it is popular for women’s jewelry (and has been for a long time).

YG is classic, and the true color of gold (obviously) so it all just personal choice. If you have a darker skin tone, the YG will stand out marginally more. Conversely, if you have a paler complexion, the rose will stand out a little more.

Good luck in your decision.

Daydate Rose Gold or Yellow Gold?

Daydate YG for most attention, RG for current trend, WG for stealth wealth, Platinum for next level stealth wealth.

Personally don’t like Everose at all. I’d only consider RG on a very pretty dress watch like a Breguet enamel dial.

I’d go WG myself because it’s inconspicuous. I wouldn’t want the attention.

Platinum would be preferred but it’s terribly expensive for me. Sometimes double the cost of WG option.

Yellow gold is generally the most attractive to me but I wouldn’t wear it. Would be seen as tacky generally. Only elderly people can pull off YG or those trying to seek attention. The only thing YG attracts is thieves. Nobody else will think it’s cool or interesting.

It’s the same with cars. I’ve had flashy cars and low key cars. The flashy ones got tons of attention, negative attention. The classy ones got lots of good compliments from good people, and women love it!

All depends on personal taste and goals and what you can afford.

Wearing just for myself with no other considerations I’d have a YG DD40 with like an Eisenkiesel or fun dial. Wearing out in public I’d want a platinum with ice blue dial or Eisenkiesel. No diamonds, standard indices.

WG works if can’t afford or get platinum. Same effect.

I’m a fan Of pure gold. 18k gold is just an alloy and has a paler more yellow look than real gold. I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to this stuff. What you “see” when you look at 18k yellow gold is actually nickel and copper and other metals to look that shade of yellow. The true color of the gold is entirely lost in the alloy. That’s why both white gold and yellow gold have the same amount of pure gold in them and look totally different.

Real gold looks more like red gold, not rose gold.

Check out some photos of 24k gold vs 18k gold online to see the difference. Real gold has a very visceral and primal look to it. Like blood of universe type stuff. I’m a fan of 24k gold, not so much 18k.

Platinum is 95% platinum and 5% platin family metals so it’s all precious metal and “more” pure. So you’re seeing the actual platinum metal and touching actual platinum when wearing it. So that’s a feather in platinum’s hat.

Deserves a thumbs up

It was only 2017 that it became apparent with gravitational wave measurements just how extreme things need to get to efficiently make gold and other PMs.

https://earthsky.org/space/how-the-u...-creates-gold/

When you're holding pure gold you are looking at stuff born of one of the most violent events in the universe.

Explains why the alchemists never managed to make any.

I go back and forth but I think for this particular watch the yellow gold works better. Classic color, classic precious metal, classic watch

I went with YG only because to me that is the classic DD color and I always am drawn to the classics. However you can't go wrong, RG is gorgeous and as others stated more modern.

I think the dial color plays a role. I love the Everose with olive dial and would be my first choice; otoh, YG with white, silver motif or black motif dials are also outstanding.
