Day-Date 6611 - any owners/experiences?

Having previously owned Day Date 1803 and 18038 president bracelet models I found myself wanting yellow gold again but on a leather strap this time.
After a long search I bought a 1957 6611 yesterday, box only but Rolex serviced last year.
It looks superb in my opinion, running at plus 2 seconds for the last 24 hours and in today's market good value at £7150.
I know the production run was short but can find very little information online, any owners have any experiences to share on the 6611?

Reed bezel day date very nice - often they are bit worn round the gills and a few little dents apparant given the soft metal but that's the charm - bit tricky to set the day and date over a later one but not too bad once you get used to it...is it. 6611 or 6611b and dauphine hands or later service stick hands ? Pop a photo up perhaps

Please see pic below.
I believe it's all original except service hands, I've found some dauphine hands on chrono24 so may get them changed.
I don't know if it's 6611 or 6611b, how can you tell the difference?
It's a 380 000 serial number

Admittedly, this watch is not in my wheelhouse, but I got curious after reading the thread and looked at some photos. So I just thought I'd mention that most of the 6611 examples I am seeing online have alpha hands like @miamiclay's watch, not dauphine. You might want to do more research before buying the dauphine hands on C24.

Yes my mistake for using dauphine, should have remembered as I was looking for a pair for this very watch ! - Dan is correct.

I have this gilt 6611B, love these older bezels.

But I need a correct white date wheel - Anyone know the part number?

Many thanks for the hand advice, I've now found some alpha hands, seem expensive at £700 but worth it I think

So I'm re-booting this thread, I am looking at a few 6611's . And trying understand why the B was added to some of the serial #'s and some not ?

From what I have read it seems around a year after release there was a up-grade to the 1055 movement with the up-grade came the removable of " Officially Certified Chromometer " and replaced with " Superlative Chromometer Officially Certified " and the hands were also changed to the Alpha hands rather than the previous Dauphine hands.

My question is the 6611B ? What does the B stand for ?

I wondered if the B was added to signify it had the up-graded movement, just speculation on my part.

Any Thoughts ? Thanks Chris

B signifies the microstella adjustment / movement plate is 0.1mm thicker than previous plate. Rgds Paul

Thank you Paul, so I should assume if I come across a 6611 with the SCOC, It may not have the update on the movement but just a newer dial.
