Gold Speedmaster With or Without Bracelet
I'm thinking about picking up either the Sedna or panda Moonshine Speedmaster. I'm debating whether to buy the watch with or without the bracelet. Part of me thinks that I should go for the bracelet to be able to fully experience the watch. I own a (white) gold watch, but it lives on leather straps. Another part of me thinks I should skip the bracelet. I strongly prefer wearing watches on leather straps, and I think that would apply to the gold Speedmaster too. Also, I own the 3861 Speedmaster; while I do really like the taper and look of the bracelet, I'm not completely satisfied with it. It doesn't feel as precise as it could. I understand the bracelets on the gold Speedmasters to be identical or substantially similar. I'd also save a non-insignificant sum by skipping the bracelet. I understand that I could purchase the bracelet at a later time, but that I'd be taking a hit by doing so.
Any thoughts? Has anyone purchased with or without the bracelet and regretted the decision? |

If you try to purchase the bracelet afterwards it's going to cost a lot more. So if you think you'd ever wear it with a bracelet that's the safe route as the strap/deployant will be cheaper to add as a different look. Personally I wouldn't wear this watch with a bracelet....it's way too hot for my personal taste and I think the leather strap gives it the right balance.

I decided to get mine on a leather strap and save the gold bracelet for a day date.

Based on the information provided you have the answer, no bracelet. The cost difference is significant and by not being happy with the 3861 bracelet you will not be satisfied with the bracelet for the gold model. Great watch though. Let us know what you decide.

I recently bought the Sedna speedy and had the same debate. There's a thread I made about it from a few weeks ago.
I had originally ordered with the leather strap, then changed my order to have the bracelet. I am very glad I did. I really like the bracelet, and the cost of ordering it after-the-fact is substantial. I believe the bracelet when ordered separately costs more than the entire Sedna Speedy with the leather strap. I figured I could always order the strap at a later date, and it's cost was much more acceptable after-the-fact. |

[QUOTE=djona;12076454]Appreciate the thoughts from all.
I just took a look at your thread. Big congratulations! It helps to see that someone else considered this same issue. Do you wear yours exclusively on the bracelet?[l/QUOTE] Hey OP - I was in your exact same shoes just three weeks ago. Zuckuss’ thread convinced me to go full bracelet. I had the OB order it to see for myself and it is amazing in its full glory on a bracelet. I’m not sure how much I will ultimately wear it on bracelet but I am wearing it until my strap buckle arrives. I ordered one of those two to have versatility if the watch with bracelet proves to be just too much attention. Good luck. You probably can’t go wrong either way. FWIW I’ve been hearing they are running really low on supply on the Sednas - since I just picked mine up on Friday. On the other hand am also hearing that there is high demand for the moonshine panda. Can’t wait to see that one in person! |

For now, yes exclusively on the bracelet. I will likely order the leather or rubber strap (from the moonshine release) for it at some point though.

Get the panda on rubber and add the leather strap. Looks great and saves a bunch of money.
Down the road if you are really missing the bracelet you can always add at that time |

Yes, I think this is the way I’d go. The bracelet is lovely, but a bit much imo (for my taste)

It depends. How much is the bracelet if ordered separately in case you change your mind?

If you do the math the full gold Speedy is $34,800 while on leather strap with gold deployant is $24,600. Difference of $10,200. If you buy a strap plus 16mm gold deployant buckle, the total price is $2980. Based on that, the bracelet should be around $13,200 ($10,200+$2980= $13,180) or maybe a little more depending on markup. |

Bracelet is $11-12k, I think.
