Would you service outside AP SC?

Hi all,

It looks like my ROO needs a regular service. It’s started to gain/lose quite a lot and often have to be wound quite a lot before it goes again.

Problem is, AP doesnt have an “AP Service Centre” here in Sydney.

Would you let your watch be serviced at an “authorised SC” not a an “AP SC”? They’re still listed as authorised SC because it’s in the AP website, but I feel a bit uneasy having a non-AP SC to perform the service. Or should I not wort at all?

FYI the SC name is “Master Watchmaking” if anyone has dealt with them before.

Thanks!

No experience with them as I live in the US, but it would seem that it would take some serious qualifications to get on AP’s website as an authorized service center. To me it implies they have wherever training and experience AP wants as well as access to whatever OEM parts they need.

If you can avoid it and plan some travels to Singapore or elswhere, I would drop it there

Send it to AP. But if they are authorized to act on behalf of AP, AP is liable if anything bad happens.

Is Clearwater in US? And are we able to send the watch over for service overseas - if locally AP has an “appointed” service centre?

If AP lists them on their website as an authorised SC then I would be ok with letting them service my watch. You can have your watched serviced by any AP SC in the world.

I would not. I've seen amateurs screw up on the polish job to the point that the damage is irreversible.
