Why is it called the Sprite?

There should be yellow on the bezel. The Air King looks more like a Sprite… I’d rather we call it the GMT Destro… (to all GI Joe fans from the 80’s)…

It’s not called Sprite but it’s trying to be forced to be called Sprite by some members that are going out of their way starting new post using the term. It’s called getting in early to set a precedence. It’s how they try to win the nickname race. Old forum tactic and noticed by many that have been around a few years.

And I think that desperate need and urgency is what makes the nickname game even more pathetic to most.

So the SA at your local AD decided to use another soda nickname after reading instagram? How original. I imagine they just decided to go along with whatever you called in an effort to appease the customer. They don't care what you call it so long as you buy it and beg them for it by purchasing a bunch of DJs and less desirable brands along with.

It's called the 'Riddler'. Except it came out a few days early (ie. April 1st).

I heard “Poison Ivy” from the Batman movies if it wears a jubilee bracelet and “Poison Oak” if it wore a oyster bracelet. It just depends if you want your watch to have hardwood or not.

Calling it the ‘Riddler’ has nothing to do with what an AD said, or didn’t say.

The name is a perfect representation of Rolex being an enigma.

I agree and my AD agrees too (although that has nothing to do with it).

yes nicknames are silly, but naming that watch sprite is even sillier haha. Sprite isn't green and black.

Whether you like it or not, the stupid comic book hero nicknames have stuck! I know some AD Sales reps that don't know what BLNR is but they sure as shit know what a Batman is. That being said, there are half a dozen super heroes that rock the green and black.

At this point call it the Flander. He did own Springfield's first and only left-handed specialty store, known as the Leftorium.

Joking aside, these nicknames are out of hand. Can we just call it the green/black GMT?

I'm calling it the Monster.

Whatever others choose to call it is by me too.

It's a 'Monster' rare big release being for lefties and the date position. My dad, who is a lefty and gave me his 1971 OMEGA Dynamic last year, is prob gonna cry when I give it to him. He earned it, big time!!!

Not a fan of nicknames but I am not calling this GMT Sprite, ever. If anything, The Riddler. I most likely will refer to it as Destro GMT.
