Does anyone store their watches flat?
It seems to me that most of us store our watches on a winder or on a soft roll in a watch case.
Does anyone store their watches flat in a drawer? Is there a downside to leaving your watch flat all the time? J |

Sometimes I wear it in bed while sleeping but if not put it down flat. May be notable to point out I wear my sub 85% of the week

your case back will get scratched, but other than that it's fine.

To be clear your caseback is getting scratched by your clasp, that's why it's not just putting something soft under the watch, which is also important.

Yes, frequently just lay them down flat...especially when traveling. Never has caused any harm.

Buy a watch roll for home
I keep a pouch in the glove box of my car Leaving watches flat you are prone to unnecessary scratching. |

My three watches: Tudor Submariner, Citizen Eco-Drive (dress watch) and Casio Illuminator spend the night in a watch box. Sort flat. Sorta not. Mostly flat.

No real downside for a daily wear watch IMO, but I personally recommend storing watches in a safe.

I hang mine on a fake Christmas tree like ornaments, with a fan underneath on the low setting , for proper air circulation.

If mine aren't on a roll or in my winder I always lay them on their side with the crown up, never flat.

I typically do. My clasps are scratched up from wearing them, so it doesn't bother me if they aren't on a watch roll.

Yes, every night. I just toss whatever I’m wearing in the leather tray next to the bed, flat. I’m not concerned about scratching the case back on any Rolex. Maybe if i had a Patek i would do something different. It’s dark when i go to bed, that’s probably the best i can do.

Lol I can’t tell if this is an entire thread of trolling. I lay my daily sub down flat on the clasp all the time and I don’t have any scratches anywhere on my watch case back and not even on the clasp. Had had this watch since 2017 and doesn’t have any scratches from doing that. Are these pPl who are scratching their case back and clasp throwing their watch down onto the surface while standing on a chair?
