The Eagle has landed - Incoming!

WOW. That summarizes it right there for me.

Some of you may know, but I've fallen hard for the Alpine Eagle after initially scoffing at it as a Genta copy when first announced in 2019. After more research, I realized that it's anything but - great history with the St. Moritz and family story, outstanding movement and proprietary steel, from a small, independent company. Can you tell that I've come around to Chopard?

I've tried on other watches with an integrated bracelet, including the AP RO in 2017 when they were readily available (a bit too big for me), the Polo S and Zenith Defy. I can honestly say that this one blew me away the first time I saw it in person - which was about an hour ago! Broke my own rule and purchased this sight unseen from the Chopard Boutique in NY (who were outstanding), having only viewed pictures of it online. Very, very glad that I did.

Bracelet isn't even sized for my wrist yet (just noticed time and date are wrong as well)but I can already tell that this is going to be a favorite for me - and the lack of bracelet taper I was initially concerned with is a non-starter. If you haven't seen it in person, I encourage you to do so - it is truly an amazing piece; I haven't been this smitten in a long time. Yes, still a lot of money but it is a lot of bang for the buck...and we don't even have to mention that dial.

That is a very nice watch, sir.

Please do give an update on the clasp. I am most curious about that particular element.

I didn’t care for it a ton when I saw in past, but your wrist shot of it has me changing my mind. Looks great, and the dial really has a cool look. Congrats!

My wrist is 6.75" - my bread in butter is really in that 38-40mm range. While the Alpine Eagle is 41mm, it really wears more like a 39-40 because of the larger bezel - which I love! Compared to my Tudor BB (which is the Rose dial at 41mm and THICK), the AE feels better proportioned and much sleeker.

Haven't really had a chance to test drive the clasp, but it feels pretty robust for something that doesn't have pushers or anything. Thus far, I the concerns I had prior to getting the watch are nonexistent.

what an awesome watch....that dial is positively mesmerizing! congrats and wear it in good health.

i was just curious if anyone knew- do eagles inhabiting the alpine region indeed have blue eyes? (isn't the dial inspired by the texture of an eagle's iris?)

Enjoy my friend. I like some elements of the watch and think with a bit of tuning they would have a winner. The haute cadence dial is a big move toward this I think.

The metal however is great. Really a beautiful texture. I keep seeing these in TV shows (JA wears one in gold in The Morning Show season 2) and it captures the eye easily.

Congrats! Like it a lot.
FYI, Chopard has a 1.5 link for the AE, just in case you can't size it perfect there is a solution.
