A Little Survey for All

Hey guys,

Based on the current situation of Rolex….
Just wanna do a quick survey here out of my own curiosity. How many of your Rolexs were bought from AD and how many were bought from dealers? If you went grey for a particular watch, which one was it and why?

1 from grey sort of, 8 from ad.

I say sort of for 1 because I went to a watch dealer who I paid a premium to for the service of going to pick up the watch i wanted from a location i couldn’t get to very quickly.

I don't want ANY Rolex bad enough to go grey. Before I pay grey prices, I will find a different hobby. Except if grey premium is less than 10%

Currently 6 from same AD, 0 from gray.

Years ago I did buy a bunch of Rolexes from the gray dealers here when their prices were below MSRP.

How old are you Dave?

All from AD’s here.

I did buy a Panerai from DSW as they were sold out at the boutiques.

1 from an AD and 3 from the secondary market. Last purchase was 2018 and the AD purchase was the only one without a discount from MRSP.

1 Gray, a DD 40 Rose, slightly over MRSZp+Tax, unworn last summer 2021 before PM’s got crazy grey prices, My AD couldn’t make it on time for me (they really wanted to…) and since it was tax free for me through this great truths grey, it was just a couple hundreds + so only time out of many many great Rolex from AD.
otherwise would not buy grey at current crazy prices.

4 from AD and 4-5 from Greys.

The Grey watches were back awhile ago when prices were close enough to justify the convenience.

Not a chance in the world I'd buy a Rolex grey at this point.
