About RSC Authentication

Hey guys,

Not really a newbie here as I kept browsing this forum for 5 years already, but this is the first time I post. Long story short, I haven been waiting for my BLRO 4 years in HongKong now (yeah, with 20k PH) and still a no-go.
As I'm doing a business travel to NY next month, I decide that I'm gonna give the trusted seller here a shot. However, as an Asia based member, I have seen how scary those Franken and Rep Rolex can be (Thank you my dear neighbor Guangzhou...). I have totally faith on those sellers (DavidSW, Takuya) of not selling suspicious pieces, but no one can be risk-free besides AD and I just want a peace of mind (have the movement check even for an unworn one).
Here comes the question, IS RSC NEW YORK THE ULTIMATE ROUTE FOR AUTHENTICATION? From place where I'm from, The RSC has seized the authentication service for years. Is it the same here is NY or US? If RSC NY service my watch purchased(Service quote, Insurance Appraisal), should I still be worried about its authenticity?

TT

I believe that people in RSC don’t really give you a written proof of authenticity. But people have been said that if they are willing to give you a service quote than u are good.

May I ask when was it when you did the authentication? And did U use any excuse?

I was straight forward, told them i just got it and wanted to make sure the diamonds were factory and wanted to authenticate. She said they do offer that service, $100, again comes with paperwork. Was in 2019

RSC in Sydney or Melbourne don’t do this but maybe it’s different in different countries.

Interesting. My friend from LA told me they don't do that no more; instead, they will do something call insurance appraisal. So confusing

Weird. This was 2019, maybe things have changed. Worth a call to ask!

Take it in and ask for a bracelet adjustment. If they work on the watch it’s real. Or at least 99.9%.

Alternatively ask for a service quote but that is a bit weird on a new watch.

I think any TRF trusted sellers are good source right… it’s just a first time buyer seeking for a peace of mind on spending his hard-earned. As a naturally paranoid guy, I do want it authenticate as long as it’s not coming from an AD

I totally get it. No joke go to rsc for a bracelet adjustment. If they refuse to give the watch back it’s fake.

They won’t work on it if it’s fake.

I think what OP means is a movement check. As the 3285 movement has yet to have clone movement. Call RSC NY to see if they can do a movement check!

Yes, I kinda feel like a movement check will be the go-to for my own peace of mind. But as far as I know, the new BLRO has yet to have rep which comes with perfect bezel insert? Frankly speaking, I'm more scared by the Franken rather than rep

Hey man, thanks for the input! Are they really able to tell the real vs fake simply by checking outside? I kinda want to have a movement check.
