Congrats on the BB GMT. My purchase was a preference not a stopgap solution. It's met all my expectations and then some.

Ditto. Love the vintage look. Actually prefer the aluminum bezel vs ceramic.

Great watch, but usually not a good idea to buy a watch simply because the one your REALLY want isn't available. The heart wants what the heart wants and is rarely satisfied by a substitute.

Fixed it for you.

Nice watch, OP congrats!

Hope it serves you well and you derive much enjoyment from it, in good health

People say this *all* the time here, but is it actually true? In the world I inhabit, people make compromises all the time because what they really want is unavailable or unaffordable.
I want Aston Martin. I got an Audi. I am very happy with my car. I wanted a house with 5 bedrooms in the nicest neighborhood. I got outbid. So I got a house with 3 in a good neighborhood. I love it now.

People do this all the time. Why do people here always say that “you’ll never be happy with compromise”? It’s akin the all of the people who just say “go buy grey.” As if it’s no big deal to spends thousands of not tens of thousands more to get what you want now.

That Tudor is a great watch, and to 95 percent of people an extravagance that they wouldn’t dream of buying. No need for comment other than that.

Rant over. It’s a pet peeve of mine. Thanks for listening, lol.

I hear ya, but keep in mind we NEED a roof over our heads and we NEED transportation. A luxury watch is a WANT item if there ever was one. No one needs to wear a watch. We do it because we like watches and enjoy expressing ourselves and our personality through these little machines. As I said the Tudor is a great watch, and I used to own one. Just saying when it comes to a pure luxury item, for most people that have a specific watch in mind, getting a replacement item will only soothe that want for a temporary time. Eventually most people will acquire the watch they REALLY wanted at some time in the future. Nothing wrong with that, just pointing it out. If you want a ROLEX, at the end of the day only a Rolex will do. That bug won't stop biting...

You raise good point. For me, I think the issue is whether what you REALLY want is reasonably attainable.

For example, I would love a new Mercedes AMG but I cannot reasonably afford one. Therefore, maybe I’ll buy a used one instead. It may not be exactly what I want but it’s attainable for me and still checks a lot of boxes.

On the other hand, if I really want a new AMG and can afford one, but buy a used one instead just to have something, the used one will probably not scratch the itch.

I went through this with a Tudor BB Chrono. I wanted one but didn’t want to pay grey market. While waiting on my AD (it took a year) I was tempted to buy other, similar chronos. But I knew I ultimately wanted the BB so I waited on it instead of buying something else. And now that I have the BB, it was totally worth the wait and I’m glad I didn’t buy anything in the meantime.

Man that is such a great pickup. Human nature to covet what we don't have... I was able to get the LV sub I wanted and now that I have gone further down the rabbit hole, I want a Tudor... Truly a watch fan's watch. Virtually unrecognizable to people chasing Rolex just bc its a Rolex, and that is the best part about it. Also IMO any Black Bay is the best sports watch for the money right now. Congrats.

Gonna just pour some gasoline onto the fire and say that Grand Seiko probably is the best value in the industry.

I did the same as the OP, wasn't going grey, so tried on the Tudor GMT with bracelet and with leather strap, went with the strap and then got an aftermarket Uncle Seiko jubilee bracelet. Totally delighted with this Tudor at thousands less than the Rollie and I don't even 'crave' the Rollie anymore.

I got a Tudor Black Bay GMT when they first came out. I love it, but it’s back at Rolex for the second time for the date skip issue. It’s out of warranty now, but the AD said he was going to include a letter to try to get Rolex to cover the repair. We’ll see.

Congrats on the pickup but there is a reason it is available in stock lol. I went through the same experience picking up a Tudor GMT at AD thinking it would scratch the itch while waiting for 126710BLRO. There is just no comparison.

I had previously owned the rolex SD43.

Then I discovered Tudor’s Pelagos LHD.

It made me regret my SD43 purchase. I sold it and am waiting for my AD to allocate an LHD to me.

I tried on the Pelagos LHD. It wears much lighter due to the titanium construction and is far more comfortable on my wrist compared to the SD43.

Something about the whole watch just works for me. It’s probably a bonus that you can buy a used one in mint condition at a good deal off MSRP.

Love my BB GMT. I actually prefer it’s bezel design vs Rolex, and I’m lucky that my wrist is large enough that chunkiness isn’t an issue.

That's a great choice, congratulations, a very underrated watch. I have it as well as the Rolex BLRO and it gets a lot more wear than the BLRO, go figure.

I have it on today for the first time in a while as it happens.

Congrats OP!

I love my BB GMT. Needed a new daily watch, wanted a true GMT, Rolex is a lot of money and gets too much attention. bB gmt works perfectly for my needs

Thanks. It's an Erika's original MN strap, the last thing I could see myself wearing until I tried one. Now wear all my Tudors on them.

BB Pro looks great on one too.
