Should one deny or allow RSC to refinish the case and bracelet
when servicing a vintage watch...
Does refinishing detract from value (not talking about changing the dial hands and bezel...just case and bracelet refin)... what do you vintage gurus think?

no doubt that a collector would want it untouched. As a wearer of vintage I want it looking good to wear so I want it polished

For me it would entirely depend upon how beat up the finish is to begin with. If not terribly bad I'd probably opt for leaving it alone. This is really a matter of personal taste!

Depends on the history of that particular watch.
If I know the original owner and what that watch has done, I don't touch it. |

For the most part, I would leave it alone.
There is a certain charm to imperfections in vintage pieces. And overpolishing certainly detracts from the value. |
