Bluesy 41 on a Horus

Purists, look away now.

I love the TT bracelet on the Bluesy, and no question it is the ultimate configuration. But it's always nice to have some other options and in the summer a rubber strap can be more comfy than metal. Whereas black is black, the Bluesy's palette is anything but straightforward. Even the dial and the bezel aren't the same blue. And both of those blues change dramatically from indoor to outdoor lighting. This makes finding a blue strap a bit of a challenge.

The Horus I typically see is the Gulfstream Blue, but when I received it I was not happy with the match. It was much more of a play-doh blue. I do think it would be a great fit for the Smurph, but not the Bluesy. The Navy color, on the other hand, seems to be a much closer fit. It's not an exact match for any of the shades, but blends in pretty well with the changes.

Anyway, I'm mainly posting this so if anybody tries a search in the future they can see a reference of this color combo, which would have helped me make the right decision the first time.

Love it. The blue band just changes the whole vibe of the Bluesey to a fun, summer type of feeling. I just picked up a 41mm Bluesey and changed out the band to a blue Rubber B. Never changed a band on any of my watches to this point, but love the way it looks and feels.

That looks good too! I agree, really changes the vibe, feels much more like a sport watch to me on the rubber.

Just 5 minutes ago my wife asked me "what watch is that?". I told her I had just swapped the bracelet for the rubber and she said "oh, I like this much more". I told her there will be no blasphemy in this house but I'm glad she doesn't hate it

That looks better than the bracelet. Nice job.

It's a colorful watch so I think this looks great to be wearing outdoors at the beach the pool, or just out on a sunny day. I might try a few NATO straps as well. Why not?

Horus strap is very disappointing. They attract dust in a weird way. PSA: don't waste your money.

It's a nice look but I likely won't go that route with mine but I've been considering it. I noticed an offer recently from Everest as well, IIRC.

I dig it!! I want a bluesey but was worried about scratching up the PCL bracelet…this seems like a great solution!

You are on to something I'd say. After wearing it for a week I have really noticed this combo has brought me a lot of freedom. I'm always careful with my watches, and especially this one being so nice/new/easy to scratch. But if you had asked me previously, which part of the watch do I think is most precious, I would have said the head for sure. But somehow, on the rubber strap, I'm not nearly as paranoid. The head is just as vulnerable as before, but I don't know, now it just feels like I'm wearing a regular watch. I'm hoping this "broke the seal" for me and now even when I put it back on the bracelet I'll be more willing to wear it. But I do suspect those scratch-magnet PCLs will add some apprehension.

TL;DR - putting opinions about appearance aside, the wearing experience both in terms of comfort and not stressing about the watch has been really great.

Really nice... I've just bought a bluesy and already thought about getting a Rubber B or Everest to get the same effect... the perfect summer vibe for the bluesy.
