Black Daytona is the new White?

I know 116500 prices have dropped significantly overall to the $30k ranges but it also seems like the Black dial is now often priced higher than the previous king White dial.

Is everyone seeing this as well?

Not seeing it for watches that are of the same year. White is always higher.

I just did a quick check and that’s not happening anywhere even when models are years apart?

Black is the only choice in my opinion.

Fwiw the members that have had both overwhelmingly prefer the black from what I have read.

All I’m seeing is a throttled production mass produced watch that has no business selling above MSRP no matter the color.

I did just notice recently that one Gray dealer was paying less for white than black by about $1,000-$1200. But maybe he has a ton of white dials not moving….

Either way, the black daytona is much better than the white imo.

Wish that was true, at least that they are priced the same. While I buy into the hype at the current level for the black, I don't really think I can buy into a 5k increase for the color. If the gap was less than 2k I would be more susceptible.

Prefer the black also. Much more subtle from a distance and richer looking up close. The white dial looks a little plasticky to me. Doesn't mean I wouldn't consider getting one though because it's beautiful too.

Very good assessment. I have the white and love it. My dad just got the black and it’s a stunner. It looks more rich in black, but the white just has that pop!

Well like say Daytona black/white dials some are more cost wise depending on country bought.

All things being equal… same year, same condition, same accessories, and same location… White dial Daytona is more valuable than black dial

what is the point? Black 116520 was always popular and had a higher premium than the white before but now the white 116520 is higher than the black one. So, it changes all the time.
