Watch out for phishing scams to get your identity
I have a watch that I am trying to sell here. Recently I got a message from a member asking for information about my watch, but also said in the message 'I don't check messages on this Forum often, so please contact me at my email address "aboutderntime@gmail.com"'. I didn't think too much at that time and emailed this address saying the watch is still available.
Next thing I know, I received a reply to my email saying 'Please for confirmation, is this your listing? I just needed to be double sure", and a link supposedly to rolexforum.com. At that point I knew it was a scam. When hovering over the link the URL was not rolexforum.com at all. I am sure it is asking for my login IDs so it could steal my identity. If successful, they would likely use my ID to scam others on this forum. Interesting thing is that I don't see this person's message in my forum private message inbox anymore. can someone delete their own message that's sent to others, or did forum moderator banned and deleted their messages? |

I had the exact same thing happen. Same member I’m guessing. He’s banned now. Seems he was a legit member and his log in info was stolen.
And yes his link sends you to a fake rolexforums page to retrieve your log in info. And his message disappeared from my inbox also. ALWAYS USE 2FA FOR LOGGING IN HERE. And don’t trust a member who is not using 2FA. ![]() |

I hate how my IT guys put us through so many different “quizzes” to learn about phishing emails and what to do. However, after seeing how many people almost get got or get got regularly on this forum. I’m gonna have to buy those IT guys a beer.

Got the same message from Thui0708 asking me to email him at the same email you referenced. Not sure if this member is a scammer or his account has been hacked (likely the latter). He sends you a follow up email with a link to your watch ad to confirm it’s the watch for sale, but the link is a scam. It looks like the Rolex forum login page but the http address is different. If you I put your login and password they now have it and can hack your account.
His original PM disappeared from my inbox. How is that even possible? |

I've gotten similar messages on the NAWCC forum as well as someone pretending to be Wei Koh on Instagram.
