Whats the special about Air King 5506?
I own a air king 5506 inherited by my father. But I cannot find any information about 5506. It looks similar to 5500 or 5504 but this one is two tone. It is cal 1530 with the word super precision and whats the price diff between them? Thank you.

The 5500 and the 5506 are 34mm diameter watches with the 5500 being all stainless steel and the 5506 having a gold capped case with a stainless steel case back.
The 5504 is a 36mm diameter watch, all stainless steel. The 5506 is relatively rare compared to the 5500, but not very popular either when new or now, so it's not significantly more valuable unless the case and oyster bracelet are in exceptionally good condition. Corrosion is always a problem with the bracelets on gold capped cased watches. I think they are gold plated and so the layer of gold is much thinner than on the case. It seems as if replacing a corroded gold plated bracelet is either too difficult or too expensive and so many of these gold capped watches are now on leather straps. |

A 5506 is a gold capped Air King. The early Air Kings up to 63-64 I were powered by 1530 movements which were "Super Precision"
