Rolex Explorer II White Dial Real or Fake?

I found this watch in a lot of storage items in atlanta. I have had afew shops tell me its authentic but the crystal seems to have been replaced (Cyclops removed). The bands have 78760 on them with the numbers 750 on the end closes to closure. I cant seem to find a serial in between the lugs but it is one inside the back of it....??? Also I notice that these around here has the "Swiss Made" instaed of the "Swiss -T<25" that is listed on mine.
If its a replica t has to be one of the nicest that I have seen, especially when the entire lot only cost me $300.00!!!
However, I have heard that some earlier models of Rolex have had this instead of the "between lug" numbers. I am not an expert but was interested in knowing more on this piece.

These are not my pics guy! I think you are mixing them up. The watch however is not that serious to me. I have a lot more than that to be concerned with.

However I did see this not to argue:
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ht=explorer+II

Check his out!! I am not arguing the authenticity of the piece....that is why the thread was started because I felt it was a copy! Please read the topic start carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had one guy to tell me that feature was added after the initial Explorer II. It does however move hourly.

first...it has a sub clasp...thats odd...no cyclops..but they are easy to remove and some prefer it that way. the only thing i can see from the photos is that the hour marker surrounds and hands look like they are grey..not black...which is a pretty big giveaway on the fakes Ive seen of this model.

I'm no expert but is the stacking order of the hands correct? I think the hour hand should be first then the GMT hand and it appears to be the opposite?

Any one else know?

Looks fake to me. The dial is fairly crude. Hour indices are the wrong color. Yuk.

Although I think the first ExpIIs with the modern version white dial actually had white gold markers (and hands) which were not painted black.

Hand stack looks wrong, and the date font looks off. Hour markers should have black surrounds..

Sorry pal it may be fake. Any chance of opening up the case back shots?

The whole watch is a fake. Sorry. Bracelet is way off too. End links are incorrect, the coronet on the clasp (the 0 part of the crown is way too large). Dial is wrong (fonts are off), hands are incorrectly ordered, bezel is off, lugs.

To be 100% sure just bring it to an AD and you will know for sure. As there are many good fakes out there. Good luck.

Yes, it is fake..

The bracelet is fake, the clasp is fake..

Your friend is wrong (well, he's right, but not for this model), all 16570's have the jump hour hand..

As guys have pointed out, the hand stack is wrong..

Why bother? We have all pretty much verified that it is a fake?

[QUOTE=vitix;1277875]and the date magnifier like this one?
And why are you posting a pic from a replica website?

The cyclops is easily removed if you don't like it.

Well, it's not so much the magnifier, since it has been removed..

However, the font in the date window is wrong..

Here is what that font should look like..

Then there is the surrounds....and the length of the 24 hr hand...and the rehaut angle.............oh heck...it's . fake...!!

Again, why bother? The incorrect ordering of the hands already demonstrates that the movement would not be correct to Rolex, among all the other anomalies...

I own a genuine expy II white dial and its a beautiful watch. if you have any questions concering this model...I will help and Im sure the others will as well! you take care, and hope you stick around!

You know, I am not too concerned with purchasing a Genuine Rolex,as I know several people who could very easily obtain these for me. No offense it is IMO a waste of money. I could own a Timex as far as I am concerned...as long as it keeps time, I'll be just fine.

I would be more than happy to stick around though and discuss as well as learn something of these watches as if I were to come across one...I would sell it with no hesitation!!
