What next?

Hello all,

The current catalog of Rolex seems to correct most of the issues people had more than everything we have seen before.

Just to be clear, I am not talking about the more colorful models, but the core collection.

For example, the 114060 was corrected by the 124060 but now I really don’t see what changes the 124060 can possibly receive.

What kind of changes can the 124060 receive except for possibly changing the movement in a decade from now?

People said the same before the transition from the 5 digit to 6 digit ranges. Rolex will no doubt find something incredibly minor to change, the internet will go all ga-ga over it, everyone will pore over the miniscule changes in even more miniscule detail, and the cycle will repeat.

Personally I think the 12 series is a step back from the 11 series as I prefer the Supercase, the thinner clasp, and the 31xx series of movements.

A decade from now, the watch fashionista of the future will be wearing the new line of 29mm professional models. Anything larger than 31mm will be considered faux pas. You heard it here first.

Fixing problems for some will create them for others. I was never a fan of the super case and I’m not really a fan of the size of the current sports lineup either.

They widened the lug width and fattened the clasp. So, for me, they only shifted the weight around. They wear ok, I guess. But, I have a bias for 5 digit models. So, my opinion isn’t really objective.

In the current lineup, I’m a fan of anything 36mm. I wear a previous gen 34mm, but I noticed the new 34s seem to wear more true to size, making them a little small to me. Maybe I’m crazy.
