Hulk vs CHNR Root Beer

Downsizing my collection and these are too similar to keep both. Which would you choose to keep?

Those are 2 of my favorite models. I would have a real tough time letting go of either tbh. IMO, they are two very different watches. Both are obviously sports watches, but one is full SS, green dial/bezel, no GMT. The other is a TT, no green in the dial or bezel, GMT complication. They are not similar looking at all imo.

I guess if I HAD to let one go, it would be the Hulk by a very small margin. The Root Beer is more versatile and can be for casual and full formal use. I also like the GMT complication.

Hulk is more iconic and harder to repurchase down the road.

I am personally leaning towards the CHNR to keep. I have a baguette platinum Daytona, and I feel like it does what the Hulk does but better. CHNR has qualities that the 116506 doesn't have however... Just where I personally stand at the moment

I’ve got them both & between the 2 I would keep the Rootbeer. My reasons being I find it a classier & more versatile watch compared to the Hulk which i find to be a spectacular one trick pony.

As much as I like the CHNR, if only one, it would be the 116610LV.

Hulk. I love the full gold rooty but not keen on the TT.

Definitely not too similar IMO, but my opinion doesn’t count.
My choice would be the hulk more than likely, but it would also depend on what I would have left in the collection.

They are not similar in complications. The GMT is more useful to me. Having said that, there is no way my Hulk is going anywhere.

I’d keep both if I could. If forced to choose I’d probably keep the ‘Hulk’ as it is discontinued and so harder to replace if you get sellers remorse.

Other than that I love both of these references.

Too similar? people here (myself included) have 2-3 Submariners; one with date, one without, or one 5 digit ref the other a 6 digit ref since they're "different"

Anyway, between the two I'd keep the CHNR.

Have to agree, but I am an owner of the CHNR so I may be a bit biased, but I do alos agree that the Hulk is harder to purchase.

I believe that the LV is a bit overhyped, they could not give them away before and all of a sudden they took off.
Never liked the mismatch between bezel and dial.

It’s an easy sell so let it go and keep the most beautiful GMT

This.

Put yourself in the pre-panic days. Chopped liver:
- Hulk
- OP
- Airking

Only the FOMO has made some of these models popular.

Add Daytonas to your list. Those things were dogs when they first came out :)

How are they not? Let's be real here.

- Same Oyster case (CHNR slightly smaller lugs)
- Ceramic bezel
- Oyster bracelet
- Same dial marker pattern

Same model with different skin. Twins wearing different outfits. Of course there are some differences but it shares 90% of the same DNA. You can't say they don't look similar when stacked up against other brands... or even other models within Rolex. GMT2 and Subs are nearly identical.
