British comedies from the 90s

My mom got me interested in these, and now I’m hooked; “As Time Goes By” and “Keeping Up Appearances.” It’s habit, I watch at least one episode a night. I finish the entire series, then start over. I can’t explain why I enjoy them so much, but I do.

Anyone else?

Not strictly from the 90's... but gentle English humour in a similar vein.

Dinner Ladies
Early Doors
The Good Life

I'd be interested to know what you think.

Have to agree the vicar of Dibley with Dawn French a classic plus many others, and far better than what's on TV today as most are complete rubbish.

Flying over to the UK on Wednesday to visit friends and after all the time I've spent in England (stationed there for a bit and visiting) I still do not get British humor.

Maybe it's just me......

Nope. We just didn't watch these shows in the right way, because we thought they wanted to make fun about the absolute sarcasm. But I was wrong. Nowadays I started to realize that we were wrong precisely in this, because they didn't present the so called English absurd humor, but an absolutely accurate prediction of the present and the near future.

We’ve had some amazing shows if I do say so myself. Growing up in the 80’s Blackadder and the Young Ones were superb. As was Benny Hill and Kenny Everett.

Interestingly Fawlty Towers is one of the most famous shows, yet they only made 12 episodes.

I used to enjoy "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin," when I'd visit my girlfriend's house back in the day.

"Jeeves and Wooster" was another that I found quite humorous.

Dads Army from the late 60s early 70s is hard to beat and still shown today. Also liked Allo Allo.
