Does anyone here actually clean their own home?

Random topic, but talking with a bunch of people in my organization (including those who don't travel) and realized every single one of us has a cleaning person. Does anyone here NOT have one? Curious how prevalent that is.

Clean my own house, wash my own car, HOA takes care of the rest.

Keep it clean but have a cleaner every 2 weeks to get what we miss.

We clean our own home, wash our own cars, and do all of our own yard work.

I do none of those. Although the wife and I do a pretty good job of keeping everything picked up. I can't stand a dirty house.

Cleaning lady comes every Friday for 4 hours (vacuum, mop, dust, clean bathrooms), as do the yard guys. Cars get washed when dirty at the local car wash. Hand wash only on the nice car. We have a deep cleaning crew come twice a year and 2 ladies spend most of the day scrubbing, cleaning baseboards, dusting blinds, etc.

This.

And I don't want a stranger in our house and going through our stuff.

I will NOT have our resident TechExpert clean houses and cars when he should be fixing watches while drunk.

Send me your bank info and we’ll get a collection going; say, $250k… that should do it for good cleaning no?

Wife stays at home and takes care of the house. I cook when I get home. I also do the heavier cleaning like the oven and grill etc.

We do pay for mobile detailers to come out monthly for the cars and also a doodle groomer.

Clean my own house, mow my own grass, clean and maintain my own vehicle (mostly). If I have the ability to do it myself, I do. My schedule is free enough to not justify the expense not to.

If you collect watches, having outside help clean your house could be problematic unless everything is at the bank. Never had cleaners but had a few sitters and a sweater or two vanished.

Yep. Even family needs to give advance notice. I do not like uninvited visitors or strangers.

You’d be welcomed with open arms if you gave advance notice though…… maybe.

Same here. The pop-in is not good.
We have some friends like us and some with an open door policy. To each their own.

Similar story here. Wife is thinking about one for deep cleaning but we’re both not keen on strangers in the house.

Saying that we have cctv everywhere but who can be bothered to watch it or stalk someone just in case? Could spend the same time actually cleaning.

We had a nanny during covid and my wife spent the entire time watching her on a camera or reviewing their entire day afterwards on playback. Ridiculous but I understood you just can’t trust anyone even those you personally vetted.
