Discontinued Rolex

Does anyone else think that Rolex should have kept the Milgauss? I was just reading this article and learned that was discontinued!

The biggest stories of Watches & Wonders are the ones you don’t get a press release for. Case in point: Rolex has used the occasion to quietly discontinue one of their more obscure models, the funky Milgauss.

What do you think will happen to the prices? Are they already increasing?

Here is what I was reading.

"Sadly, the Rolex Milgauss, after 6 decades, is one of them. Finished. Done. All you mad scientists and engineers out there will need to scoop up an existing pre-owned model 116400 now. Like, right now, as I expect prices will increase [by] 10-20% pretty quickly.”

It makes me think that maybe these watches are going to be worth a lot of money later. Maybe already with prices the way they currently are.

Personally, was never a fan of the Milgauss.

No, I think they should rework it and turn out a new version that's not as flashy/polished. The colored dials are fine, but the broad polished bezel, polished case and PCLs never struck me as tool watch cool...more as modern Rolex jewelry, which I guess is exactly what they are.
