My new Explorer 1 124270
Hello to everyone hope you all are having a great weekend.
Thought I would share how i was able to finally get my grail watch being the Explorer 1 124270. Back in March i made a trip to a few stores here in So Cal area for my interest in an Explorer 1. It was actually my pick of either an Explorer 1 or an OP 36mm in black dial but i was told by both of the AD’s that those are extremely difficult to come by. Anywho, after my initial visit to both i wasn’t really expecting to hear from them for awhile as i was told it would be a “ months long wait “. Well come April 22nd I got a surprise email from one of the AD’S! Very surprising indeed I’ve always been into mechanical watches my whole life ( i’m 29 ) Ever since i can remember it has always been a dream of mine to own a Rolex & after so many years of research & all this hard work that i have put into this crazy thing thats life, to finally be able to afford one & own one… the feeling is just something else. I cant quite describe the emotions that i had when i sat down to take my first look at it.. just pure happiness. I haven’t taken it off my wrist yet in the Time that i got it & i can see this being the last Rolex i ever own as i am by no means “ rich “. It’s just so timeless and such a simple time only watch which is what i love so much about it. I often just stare at the thing more than i do to read the time! Haha anyways, it’s been consistent in its time keeping.. right around +2 seconds so no complaints there. Overall I’m just in love with this piece & i think it will be the watch that will get passed down to the next generation when that time comes. Thanks for the read & a happy Sunday |

Congrats OP, and wear it in good health! How’s the fit and comfort level of wearing it? Do you wear it while you’re at home too?

Thanks buddy! The fit is amazing! I had one link removed. I like mine snug but not tight. The 5mm extension is very nice also for those times my wrist swells on hotter days. I wear it to sleep! Haha its very comfortable |

Congratulations! Can tell you’ve earned it just by your write up. Refreshing to hear someone proud of enjoying their huge milestone watch, and not asking what to buy next. Enjoy it for a lifetime.
