1016 Service or not
So I have a vintage 1016 from 1974 and I know it hasn't been serviced for atleast 20 years. in comparison to my recently serviced datejust it keeps time with 3 to 4 seconds a day compared to it and also my recently serviced Omega Seamaster. I don't wear it often because it was my Dad's and don't want to damage it. although I do wear it when I visit my mom as she bought it for him as a 5 year anniversary present. my question is that I am afraid to leave it with a AD for service because I could never replace it if something happened to it, but I would like to have a fresh service on it. would love to hear thoughts on it, BTW I was quoted a purchase price of $12k from Bob's, I'd assume if that was there instant cash price then it's probably worth maybe 35 percent more? just wondering for insurance purposes. it's a mark 3 with perfect light orange patina.
