Thinking about Moonshine gold with green dial

I'm considering the moonshine gold speedmaster with green dial but have yet to actually see it IRL. Was at store yesterday and they didn't have one to look at.

If you have seen, how do you like the green dial? Too dark?

From pics and video the color combo looks awesome and much less blingy than Rolex DD in gold.

Thanks!

ive seen it, and less blingy. I like the apollo XI better in moonshine, but it is nice. The green dial is very dark, and can look black.

From pics I like the shade of green but worried it can look black. Looking forward to seeing it soon.

Yes agree, the Apollo looks great!

I found your concern to be true. When I saw the dial in person, the shade of green looked too seaweed green for my taste.

I've been wanting to add one, but not at MSRP -- too much for what it is.

Too dark for me so I passed on it. Needs a little pop and I just didn't feel it.

I chose moonshine on moonshine versus green on moonshine. I couldn’t be happier.

The green is nice, but I like this one (I don’t own it).

That's the one. The green dial is nice but does not pop like the one above.

You should definitely go with the Rolex DD versus the Omega. One of them will hold or appreciate in value over time, the other one will take a 20% dip the minute you walk out the store.

Omg. More to watches than their value. Go away. DD most boring watch out there.

I also don’t understand the comment you quoted. I love the Day-Date. It is not at all a boring watch to me, but it’s a completely different watch than a Speedy. Yes, the ones we are talking about are both precious metal, but one is an Omega chronograph and one is, well, a Rolex Day-Date. How does one make the jump from a guy asking about a Speedy to recommending a Day-Date? Very strange.

To follow up. I just bought an omega for 13k that I’m sure once it got to my house is worth 10 at most. You know why I bought it? Cause I love it and it’s awesome. So sick of you people.

I understand your frustration Mike; I got a ration of s$@t from friends when I bought my Speedmaster Moonphase at the OB (for retail) because of the resale value point. To me I wanted the boutique experience, I wanted to have some purchase history if there’s a special edition released I want to get on the list for, and I didn’t buy it to flip it so if I “lost” some money I don’t really care. I love the watch and (to me) it’s worth every bit I paid for it because it makes me happy.

Honestly it’s been getting the lion’s share of my wrist time anyways since I prefer not wearing a Rolex at work for some of the stigmas associated with it.

Steve, I get it as well and I’m glad to hear you put your moment with the watch ahead of what it might be worth down the road

I love Rolex. Huge respect for the brand and I have 4. Just ready for the stock talk to go away.
OP: the green moonshine I’m sure is killer. Never seen in person but I can’t imagine it being anything but jaw dropping in person.

I have seen it in person, and I loved it. The dial is dark, but on the gold bracelet it pops. I don’t think it would work as well on the green strap.

Thinking about Moonshine gold with green dial

IMO the green dial gold Speedy is the most beautiful Speedmaster, ever.
