Headed to Vegas!

Excited to fly out tonight for a quick three day getaway with the missus. Going to Area 13 for the first time, have some top flight dinner reservations booked already…and of course I’ll be watch shopping . Excited to see the new Bucherer TimeDome and looking forward to hopefully finding a pre-owned VC Overseas dual time to try on. Should be a fun trip!

And before anyone asks, no, I will not be bringing strange women back to my room to cuddle (unless you count my wife, she can be strange at times ), I will not leave $700k+ of jewelry in my room unattended for the maid to steal (since I don’t have that much anyways), and I won’t take my Rolex off at the blackjack table and somehow lose it out of my jacket pocket.

I think I have my bases covered?

Will update with photos!

Just got back last week from a 5 day getaway and the weather was gorgeous. Hope you have a great time!

Finally got to do the Caesars pool blackjack and was a good time getting fed drinks for two hours. Their cigar bar is always a routine stop too and was a good scene to watch the GN game, even for the lone game they lost.

Where you heading for the dinner reservations?

Right on Brian I wish I had 5 days to spend, your trip sounds like fun! Never done pool blackjack; is it basically a swim up table like a swim up bar? The cigar bar at Caesar’s is a great stop, I should have time to burn one while I’m there hopefully!

Dinners so far are Lakeside at Wynn, Jean Georges at Aria, and then brunch at Bardot Brasserie at Aria before our flight home Friday night. Never been to Lakeside, but heard good things and we had an amazing meal at SW steakhouse last time we were in town so we figured we’d give the Wynn another stop on this trip. Plus there’s a few watch stores there so I can do some looking around before dinner. Got my JC last year as a walk in being in the right place at the right time, so going to try something similar again and see what happens.

Essentially a swim-up bar. 6 tables; 3 on each side and one on the end. They range from $25/$50 min on the sites, and the one on the end was $100/min, on a Friday at 2pm. Dealers were great and drink service was on-point. They did have to shut off the waterfall around us with the wind we had, where it was misting onto the felt. But the pool was probably 85 degrees. Made you feel alive when you jumped into the main pool that was probably 68º.

Montecristo Cigar Bar is a staple. Apparently they keep that in tip-top shape because it is frequented by Caesars properties ownership and senior VPs. Had a Padron Anniversary Series 1964 with a neat Gentleman Jack (or 4) and the night got better because of that pairing.

And top notch choices for dinner. You won't be disappointed. We did off-strip a couple of nights and hit up Golden Steer and Herbs and Rye. Can't miss.

Your JC will fit right in. I didn't notice many while I was out there. And I was on the lookout. One SS Daytona, one YG 40mm champagne president in the blackjack pool and a few other Omegas, a Santos and one Moser. Relatively tame, and my Sub Date was along for the ride with me the whole time.

Pics when you get back!

Nice Steve! I know you mentioned just missing me by about a week on my Vegas post. Darn - next time!

Stop by the Aft Cocktail Deck before your dinner at Lakeside. Great drinks at a (Vegas) reasonable price.

Lol everything in Vegas has to be viewed through the “reasonable for Vegas” lens maybe next time we’ll be there at the same time; your photos are always an inspiration for a trip Jess!

Since I live here... I welcome you.
go to Circus Circus steak house for some nostalgia... its awesome.
pack your patients because traffic right now is horrific because of all the construction going on.

Not sure new Bucherer TimeDome is open... I have been in a while to see. what I do know is that if you are used to paying secondary market prices for watches, expect to pay 25% on top of those prices.

Yes, they'll definitely 'have inventory' on what you might be looking for, but it will definitely be 'used' and it is 'priced accordingly' Comparatively, the greys that sell on this site or via eBay, seem like relative bargains

there was a temporary store... I am not sure that the permanent space is open.

My SA said the new space is supposed to be open; whether it is or not we’ll find out tomorrow!

the temp space has a LOT of goods... everything you could hope to see in person. I just find it sorely over priced for secondary market goods.

Enjoy your time. And remember that gambling is a choice. If you feel the need to test your luck I suggest a good walk off-strip seeing the hardship the city hides from tourists. It’s an unfortunate ongoing social catastrophe.

Have fun Steve! Definitely a different trip with your wife. The first time I took my wife, I had been 13 times to Vegas, always with the boys. Traveling with them we saw the seedy, vulgar and fun as hell Vegas….with my wife, I realized how much more I did not see. Nice shops, nice walks, nice shows(only show with boys were the night clubs) really nice restaurants., heck we even did a nice tour! Anyway, seeing Vegas with my wife was a hell of lot more relaxing…..and safe! Have fun!

Not sure if Bucherer is open yet. WOS here is worth a stop. Alex & Joe are both super helpful & knowledgeable. They have a lot of amazing pieces not on display--they can also show you Rolex from next door as they have the same ownership.

The stores in Venetian don't have much inventory--nothing interesting.

We were just there on Sunday.

Have fun!!!

that is Burcherer now... there is still the Burcherer owned Rolex boutique and the main Burcherer retail space that is under construction (it may be finished now, but if not there is a temp space directly across the walk way) .
the Jaeger Lecoultre boutique is gone and moved to the Mall between the palazzo and Venetian.

Hey guys just got back late Friday; sorry for the delay in posting pics I had to work yesterday. Anyways Vegas was a blast as usual!

Started out Wednesday at Aria to do some gambling and shopping at Crystals next door. They had this really cool display in up in the atrium.

Lunch at Din Tai Fung; can’t recommend enough!

After that headed to Wynn for dinner at Lakeside; tried to take Jesse’s suggestion on a pre dinner drink at Aft but we were running a bit behind and they were completely full, so we’ll have to save that for next time!

Rounded out the night at Bellagio for the fountains and a walk through the conservatory.

Thursday we were at Area 15 and Omega Mart for the day. Very cool (and weird!) maybe not for everyone, but super artsy and interesting to us. Would definitely go back!

Back to Aria for dinner at Jean Georges…the tuna tartar was an awesome start and the Wagyu rib cap was ridiculously good!

Friday was watch shopping day before coming home; didn’t buy a new piece on this trip but I reminded my SA I’m still hoping for a BLNR on jubilee, so hopefully they can come through eventually. Got to put on the exhibition model for a bit just for fun, and I really enjoyed being able to try on the LB sub. Photos don’t do this piece justice and I hope to be in a financial position to add one soon-ish. It was an absolute stunner in the metal!

Sorry for the long post, but thanks for reading everybody!

Vegas is one of the very few places I've been recognized and asked for a photo/autograph (outside of game days).
