Bless-ed are the Cheesemakers.

It's Friday! Time for an important question, for our multi-national members.

What's your favourite cheese?

Personally, Stilton's my go-to, from the cheeseboard.

That's like asking who's your favorite child. I'd probably have to go with an aged goat gouda.

Honestly love so different cheeses

For tasting with Sangiovese wine, fresh parm.

For cooking with pasta pecorino

Gruyere or Emmanthaler are my go to when I'm having baguette & cheese

Black diamond for a white cheddar

Any yellow cheddar aged 3+ yrs

Really just depends on my mood.

Not a fan of smoked cheeses, I'll eat semi soft/soft cheeses on the holidays but not something I typically seek out.

I used to love going to the J hirt co. In Detroit with my family when I was younger and getting to select cheeses from all over the world. They had a giant chalkboard menu and plenty of stuff not listed.

Was always a treat when they had bricks that had started to mold as they sold them off @ $1/pound. The owner used to come and tell us about the cheeses, what they retailed for and how much of a bargain they were because of a but of mold that you can just cut off. Always surprised me he didn't just cut it off and sell it anyways. But was my favorite part of the trip getting to try all the new mystery cheeses that normally would've been well above the price range we usually explored.

Really tough finding a cheese I absolutely despise, but my preferences seem to be favored towards swiss cheeses. I imagine I come home from the deli with some heirloom tomatoes, a baguette and Gruyere today, unless some other cheese really grabs my eye.

There are really only two cheeses that matter.
The last one and the next one.

Life is to short to have a single favorite...
Even within a single type there are countless variants.

With your, say, five fave's, which one would you plump for?

We sometimes microwave a camembert till it's runny then dip potatoes fried in rosemary and thyme in it. Best enjoyed with a glass or three of provencal rose

Sounds delicious!!

I was also borrowing from Monty Python.

A since closed restaurant in Philadelphia, Le Bec Fin , had a cheese course that might have out-distanced the whole meal.
RIP Georges Perrier

Fresh mozzarella from my favorite Italian grocery stores brings unlimited joy :)

Fun fact, when it is truly fresh, the knife will squeak as it cuts through the center…this instantly triggers a mouth watering reaction.

Another I really enjoy is “crucolo” (shelter cheese). Not sure on the spelling.

My range is wide and the occasions to enjoy are vast.

Husband and I took a class on making mozzarella several years ago. It’s something we “make a date” to do once a month.

I will eat any cheese.

From American cheese slices to Caciocavallo Podolico, if it’s available it goes on the plate. Add olives, tomatoes and quality olive oil and breads and I can live off that forever.

Myself love cheese like many from strong mature Cheddar to mild Caerphilly but my favourite when I can get it is Stinking Bishop. Its got quite a strong smell hence the name, its a quite delicious soft cheese the rind is soaked in Perry to give it a unique distinctive flavour .

If you haven't tried Wensleydale, I would give it a go, my dad, of course would not be seen eating it without a chunk on fruit cake.
