A bittersweet incoming. Hello meteorite, goodbye friend.

It's here.

My most recent SA has been fairly good to me. Something new every 6 months or so. I can't complain. Every visit, she tells me how poorly locals and tourist treat the staff. Yelling, name calling, berating, threats, etc. She always tells me that she's ready to quit.

Well, all good things must come to an end. She is finally leaving and this is her goodbye allocation to me. It's bittersweet, really. My Rolex journey wouldn't have been the same without her.

It hasn't really set in yet. I’ve always imagined the Day Date being a collection-ending watch for me. A grail per se. The last watch I’d need.

Maybe this is it. Maybe it’s my last Rolex. Or maybe I'm just mourning a loss of a great SA.

Nonsensical, I know.

I've asked for the meteorite not actually expecting to get it. But alas, it's here. I love it. It's elegant. It's comfortable. It's what I’ve expected and more.

Enough ranting. Enjoy some pics.

Beautiful. The last picture actually made me ‘LOL’!

Shame about your SA - I guess the heat she got was a side we rarely consider.

Funny, I was thinking it looked so small in the palm of his hand.

Pretty watch, enjoy.

Beautiful watch and I know you're just the messenger but I see your location is listed as Japan. Some rude American tourist, sure, I can see it, but having lived in Japan for years myself I wouldn't believe for a second that locals are rude and name calling etc. Just doesn't fit the profile of that society whatsoever, let alone in the luxury space.

Anyway, can you follow her to her next place or is she leaving the industry?

Stunning!
Sorry to hear about your S/A, I am regretting the day I get that call about my S/A because she has hinted at retiring in the near future.

Great story, bittersweet for sure. That is a stunning reference, a ‘one watch to rule them all’ Rolex. Congratulations!

Agreed these are some of the best shots I’ve ever seen of the dial actually. Very difficult to photograph these

Congratulations. Hopefully you’ll find a good connection with another SA. When mine left, I equated it to a close friend moving over seas.

Is that WG or Platinum?
