Platinum DD - Romans or Baguettes?

Hi there, long time lurker first time poster.

I have a request at my AD for a Platinum DD40 (Ice Blue dial, fluted bezel) which I'm told could be a while, but I need to let them know exactly what I want, and I'm having trouble choosing between romans or baguettes. I've always felt diamonds on a dial made a watch feel more 'feminine', but the baguettes are pretty special on the DD. Unfortunately I haven't been able to see either watch in person.

Any advice from those who own or have seen either? Thanks!

Baguettes on the ice blue are in my opinion not feminine. I would go for that option. I haven’t owned or seen either in the flesh, just my opinion based on pictures. Would love to see them in the flesh.

That's an entirely different conversation...Ice Blue vs Meteorite! Both are stunning (from photos). I'd love to see the Meteorite in person.

Much prefer the Romans, to the point that if baguettes arrived first, I’d wait

Baguettes, but I’m not fond of Roman’s on any watch…like not even a Patek or Breguet

Baguettes without a second thought!
I have the YG DD 40 with Romans and LOVE IT
BUT
There is something special about the ice blue with baguettes.
On the ice blue with Baguettes are my first choice second is sticks.

Same here !
Have a roman dial but I love the baguettes dial and the baguette bezel (TBR) but it is another price point

Vote for the baguettes dial !!!!!!

Not a fan of either, TBH. Romans have never done it for me on any watch, and the bags are kind of ruined by Rolex's insistence on making the 6 and 9 bags bigger, which throws the balance out of wack. IMO if Rolex doesn't have at least three positions with which to make a difference like that (i.e. 3:00/6:00/9:00 or 6:00/9:00/12:00 positions), then they should show restraint and not do it. It's kind of like how the Wimbledon on other models has one rogue stick at the 9:00 position which is just strange.

But if I had to pick one of those options, I guess I'm going bags because I dislike Romans that much, lol. But I'd be alllll over a stick dial DD.

I know it doesn't show in the catalog, but I handled a fluted bezel platinum DD40 at my AD this week that had an ice blue dial with luminous stick markers.

It was awesome, but also $69,000.

Romans on the DD40 are nothing like the DJ Romans. I don’t like Romans anywhere but the DD40 are just special. On a YG Romans, on this platinum yeah baguettes!

I recently saw this new piece for “Display” naturally. I felt the Roman’s kinda melted into the whitish platinum case. So I pick diamonds in this case. Now, on the older smooth models the deconstructeds are blued out for way better contrast. I’d like to see that mock up.

I'd go with baguettes. Not feminine imo. Modern and timeless. That is a beautiful reference.

I'd go Romans, but I like those markers in general. Baguettes are nice too!
