Change your name to "Rolex-$%#%"

Has anyone thought of changing their name to a hyphenated "Rolex-$%#"

For example say your surname is "John Smith" your name would become "John Rolex-Smith"

How cool is that

O.K. guys so I made a topic that didn't float..........we all make mistakes

You know there is a very old but well established law that if you trade under your own name, it is a valid defence to a claim against you for breach of trademark. So if I did change my surname to 'Rolex' and I started a business of making 'Rolex' watches, there is a basis in law for having a good defence to a claim by Rolex for breach of trademark. (I couldn't use the coronet, that would be going too far).

I think there was an actual case of "McDonald's Hamburgers" where Mr. McDonald a sole proprietor carrying on the business of making hamburgers, successfully resisted a claim by McDonalds to desist from trading with the use of the name "McDonalds".

Lucky, I'm not time costing for this advice, or you guys would have to all hand over your Rolex to pay for my fees
