Do you prefer yellow gold Rolex or Everose gold?

Do you prefer yellow gold Rolex or Everose gold? And why? Curious as I always thought rose gold was amazing but lately something in my brain has changed and yellow gold is starting to appeal to me more. So strange how tastes change out of the blue with no rhyme or reason

Depends on the watch and the colors. I cant say I prefer either. For example I have a CHNR and a YG day date. Both golds work splendidly.

That said there are certain skin tones which would favor one over the other, so thats always something to consider when choosing.

Unfortunately neither for me, I like the white gold watches the Rolex offers.

I've seen too much fake yellow gold in my life to like the real stuff, so rose, but I also think it depends on your skin tone. Lighter skin - rose. Darker - yellow.

I completely disagree and think the opposite lol. Rose gold looks horrible on lighter skin tones like mine and blends in. Light skin- yellow, dark skin- rose

Personally, I agree. All the gold color choices are lovely, but I feel that there are cons to each. YG is too loud, RG patinas, and WG flies too far under the radar for the money.

This is the rule of thumb I also learned at some pt.

I prefer rg, as I find it more muted HOWEVER I know this is blasphemous in this section but OMEGA moonshine gold is a bit more pale so that’s also an amazing choice for those that don’t want to rock a yg bluesy etc. white/Platty is my favorite overall.

I don’t know white or black, but I’m an Asian with relative pale skin tone comparing to my ethnic group, and rose gold looks cheap on my wrist almost like polished brass.
Yellow gold is really good on me but a bit too loud. I’m struggling between YG and WG the other day at AD. They offered me a WG DD on silver dial, as much as it’s stealthy it’s a bit underwhelming. I think dial color also makes a difference. I registered my interest on a DD40 WG with olive green dial to see how it goes if it ever comes

Yeah your comments are consistent with my point. Paler/lighter skin is a match for yg. That white gold olive is bananas and would be an amazing watch for you.

I agree too.....I own a TT yachtmaster and it looks much better on me in the summer when I am tan vs. the winter when my skin is lighter.

Yellow gold. And if I want a white metal then steel or platinum.

True. I think just about everyone agrees AP does the best RG. A rare WIS consensus.

I like rose gold on OF but prefer yellow gold for all two tone models and models with a bracelet.

OP- YG DD40 is classic Rolex and always will be. That's my vote and what I bought so I put my money where my mouth is

Also the fact that gold is actually yellow.

Post a wristshot :))

Technically wouldnt classic Rolex be DD36? Looks at wristshots of powerful men, generals, older celebs, politicians, presidents. Common theme: 36mm DayDate in YG (rose wasnt common then tho )

Happy to oblige. I mean YG DD is classic Rolex. 36 was too small for me, I think the 40 is perfect, as do many others.

I like yellow and white better than rose. White can look a bit bland but is less obvious than yellow or rose so it has its advantages. It's nice to have both!!! No rose in my mix.

I prefer rose, yellow is very nice, but oddly enough it is a bit TOO loud compared to RG

I’d be in the yellow camp, although some of the rose gold looks amazing.

Yellow gold on full bracelet. Rose on leather or rubber strap. Full Rose is a bit overkill IMHO

For me it’s yello gold, although if you asked me the same question, except replace Rolex with AP, it would be rose gold.
