2 rolexes for a PP
What do you think of this trade? 116500 panda and 116500 black trade to PP 5167/a aquanaut 2013?
Never had a PP before and Im just curious whether this is a smart move. Thank you for your insights! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I never cared for the aquanaut i personally think it’s boring . I’d rather have the Daytonas you would trade for it but I’d say if you don’t love the Daytonas and you like it do it.

absolutely not. if it were a high complication patek, then maybe. but not for some plain ol' aquanaut

Keep the Daytona's you'll regret it (not for the money but the rubber strap)

Get the Patek. Much more exciting watch. can probably find a better year though for that trade

I’m not an Aquanaut fan either. Nor would I trade two chrono complication watches for just a time/date model, especially one on a rubber strap. But the Daytona and Aquanaut are two very different watches. If you really prefer the Aquanaut’s styling and appearance and you don’t mind parting with two very hard to get (at retail) Rolex references, I’d not hesitate. (Though finding a more current production, as JG noted, probably would be a good idea.)

If that Patek had Hamilton stamped on the dial you’d look down your nose at it. Exactly nothing remarkable about it any way. Giving up sixty Gs worth of Daytona for a watch on a rubber strap. Snap out of it.

Not a fan of Aquanut at all; if you're talking about Nautilus or grand complication, that's another story

Not a chance! I’d let one of those go for a world time or classic calatrava. That’s it!
PPs “hype” watches do nothing for me. PP is pure class, that’s why I’d stick with perpetual calendar, calatrava etc.

Given that the 116500 is no longer made, don’t give up the 116500x2.

Well at least it’s smart for the person getting the 2 Daytonas

5167 is a great watch and I still have mine, but I wouldn’t do that.

Disregarding the fact that I am not a Daytona fan, I personally, still wouldn’t do that trade.

I would not do the trade.....however, I would also not keep 2 Daytonas.
Id sell one and wait for a good deal on a PP.

It's a cool watch but prior to the 5711 hype it was the entry level sports Patek. Aimed at the young money.. just not 5711 money. Or daddy would never buy me a 5711 money..

This is what they advertised when the first run was issued in the 90s. Strictly an entry level watch for young folks to bring them into the brand. A no frills watch on a rubber strap. No where near the finishing details on the case as found with the Nautilus.

Nah, most Pateks have disappointed me irl, except for the nicer complicated models. Nautilus and aquanaut are not even worth their inflated MSRP imo, market value is just insanity.
