Good ADs in Bristol

Hi everyone,

I’m going to Bristol (UK) in a couple of days, does anyone have any good recommendations for ADs (independent or chain)? The only one I’m aware of is Goldsmiths in Cabot Circus but considering I’m already on the waitlist at the Reading Goldsmiths for DJ 36, I’m not feeling confident in that I’ll be able to get anything from Goldsmiths.

Don’t think you’ll get much from any UK AD as a non local walk-in unless you’re in the market for a PM piece or a TT DJ

Wise not to incur the wrath of Goldsmiths by ‘cheating’ on your Reading branch registering elsewhere but if Bristol had the DJ 36 you wanted and Reading didn’t then you should defiantly buy it

E P Mallory & Son in Bath is a well known independent not too far from Bristol

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately we don't have time to pop to Bath but hopefully another time! Might try my luck with Goldsmiths Bristol, besides its been 6 months since I put my name down for the DJ i wanted at Reading; I don't think its coming anytime soon

They got a few pieces available, mostly PM, nothing like sports stainless. But Karen the manager is the nicest straightest person, worth a visit just in case

Karen is managing Cabot until end of the year, Christian has left, Karen is great been dealing with her for 20 years, I was in Cabot just before Christmas there were some mixed metal and full precious pieces that were for sale the tide is turning give it a few weeks there will be Pepsi’s in the window up for grabs LOL

OK, thank you for the info that Christian has left, yes Karen is a diamond, Karen used to be Manager of Goldsmiths Cabot Circus old store back in 2016.

Just a quick update: visited Cabot circus and a pretty good experience. Was offered a DJ 36 but not the configuration I was looking for, but 10/10 for service.

Cribbs causeway had the exact watch I wanted but in the 41 variant. Unfortunately the SA was pretty standoffish and I’m pretty sure she’d not sell me that watch (mint green DJ with Jubilee and domed bezel). Plus the 41 is too big for my wrist. Also spotted a Daytona in window if anyone is interested!
