Your within reach Grails for 2024?
Was wondering what everyone’s possible to achieve grails are for 2024? What are you aiming to add to the collection if all goes well?

Saved my lunch money for a Daytona OF 12 series. Will they sell me one this year, is the question.

A grail is a grail. Like highlander, there can be only one. You can't have like 7 and 8 grails. Didn't you see what happened when the guy drank from the wrong one? He turned to dust on last crusade.

I do agree more with this idea, but I think you can have a two or three grails if they are in significantly different price brackets. For me it’s like: - the next watch I really want I will be able to comfortably afford within the next couple years but not currently obtainable. - the watch I really want but it’s financially out of reach without making significant sacrifices or consolidating my collection (and still saving for multiple years) to afford. -Lottery watch. No chance of affording it without coming into a life-changing amount of money or having some other very significant thing in life put my income on a vastly different trajectory. To that end these would be my three for the above scenarios (in order). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What the one watch that you'll probably never own. It's possible but there might be a significant financial or availability issue in getting it. Whats that one watch you can't shake from being the "one" ? They should come up with a name or a word that kinda make this concept east to sympathize with.

For me I want to say a LB sub, but things would have to go far beyond expectations / reality at this point to happen in 2024 (year is off to a very expensive, non-watch-related start). So a more realistic piece would be a polar Explorer 2. Not a grail per se, but definitely one I think I want to add. That or a Wimbledon DJ41 fluted on oyster; would be stoked to add either of those if the year goes ok!

It’s not an endgame grail by any means and it’s fairly broad but a Rolex is in the cards for me at the end of this year if I get a job I’m going after. I’ve had two before sold one to get the other to start a relationship then sold that after a bit to buy an engagement ring. Now I’m ready for one to pass onto my kids when we have them.
I’m after an Air King or a green/celebration OP. If things go better than expected I’d like a Sub. |

Hopefully, a ceramic Coke GMT. That’s the only Rolex I see myself buying in this market situation for quite some time.

While I think SS models will still be hard to get, I am hoping the availability of certain PM models become more available this year.
DD40 Platinum 228236 w/ice blue dial and indices Daytona WG 126509 (black dial) or 125519 OF (silver dial) Hope to buy at AD but would go grey if the prices are anywhere near MSRP.

I posted the above on January 19th. Exactly two weeks later I got the call from my AD that my grail had come in. What a great way to start off the year!
