Franken Sub?
I have always wanted a blue dial YG sub. But the yellow gold is very flashy.
I am considering taking a blue sub dial and hands and having them installed on my sub. I know franked sub. but you must admit it looks pretty good. Any ideas on cost of the dial and hands? |

I think a version of a blue sub would need a blue dial, grey bezel, titanium handset.

Looks a little too "weird" for my tastes. However, if you like it, I'd say go for it! Maybe leave the original hands though? The gold really looks out of place imo.

I love it. I wish they made that. But I'd never do that because it looks fake.

This is the vibe I’m getting from this mock-up. It looks like it could’ve been a Steinhart/Squale, etc... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Not feeling the hands but otherwise looks great.
Frowned upon by purists. I wouldn’t do it to a watch of mine but it’s yours to do as you wish. Make sure to keep original parts and can easily be reversed should you need to.

Best to mod a seiko instead to get it out of your system.
But if you have to do it, head east to 47th street in NYC and Traxnyc, they would love to do it for you |

Looks good to me, except for the gold hands. Stick with silver.

I don't care about the modifying a Rolex part but that combo just looks terrible.

Franken Sub?
I’m all for mods and customizing something you wear to your own liking. But, If you’re going to mod it, go big or go home. Otherwise it’s probably not worth the cost.
Especially with small miniscule changes like that, you may as well just get a DeepSea or a 11 series WG Submariner since they have a similar look. Otherwise it just looks bland/amateur with heavy odds for remorse down the road |

Not for me. I don't see the upside to doing it.

It's your watch, so do what makes you happy. Just keep the original dial and hands just in case and remember that Rolex won't touch it without putting it back into the original configuration.
