UK visitor buying in Switzerland

I’m going for a long weekend to Zurich at the end of next month.

Buying a new Rolex is not the reason for going, but of course the question subsequently popped into my head….!!

Is there a saving to be had?

Any advice/thoughts on the subject welcome.

Have good look in airports, bit obvious but worth checking .. Zurich I’ve never had any luck, same as Geneva … and yes, it’s really expensive ..

Almost any watches here. Swiss Franc too strong currently, VAT is 8.1% in case you want to claim back when exporting to UK.

The only saving you'll get is your cash, since you won't be able to spend it. Jokes aside you could get lucky but they tend to reserve the good stuff for the local Swiss cheese makers.

I would say it’s a NO on the savings and the chance to get anything

Lindt

Sign up for the chocolate tasting at the Lindt factory!

Everything in Zurich is nice. Visit Beyer watches and try on some cool vintage watches.

Visit the small but impressive museum in the lower level of the Beyer store. I think it opens at 2:00 pm. ..... and a coffee and pastry nearby at the historic Confiserie Sprungli on the Bahnhofstrasse. Both not to be missed.

Probably no chance, don’t forget Zurich is home of some of the wealthiest people in the world. They already have very long lists.

Two tone skydweller

What are the chances of a two tone skydweller?

Will be visiting London, Amsterdam and Zurich in April and would love a TT skydweller....can easily source in Saudi but the retail price is about $2000 cheaper in London and I'm guessing most of Europe.....any chance in either of these 3 cities ?

Definitely worth the ask. TT sky-dwellers typically go around retail on secondary market, or even under retail in UK.

In Amsterdam there are 3 AD stores (2 boutiques) who sell Rolex. TT Skydweller will be hard to get as a walk-in customer, but not impossible. Visit them, maybe you are fortunate. If you are a non-EU resident, you can reclaim the VAT with the Global Blue refund service, which will save you around 15%. Good luck.

I would say TT Skydweller in London is not difficult to get. I have been offered casually.

We recently drove from Geneva to Zurich, visiting watch stores along the way. No Rolex store had anything to sell, and as others have said, prices are high.

Yep! I remember when people in the forum here were flying to London just to buy watches.
